This is such an awesome sounding record and I think Gorillaz best, it's obvious they took a lot of care in getting the sound so right, what with incorporating so many different styles and artists. Featured on this is Snoop Dogg, De La Soul, Bobby Womack, Lou Reed, Mark E Smith and more... Forget the cartoon side of things if that puts you off, this is just superb music and sound quality at it's best. Brilliant!A wop bop a loo bop a lop bam boom.0

Have read in a couple of places that this latest version of Superunknown is not the best sounding one out there, the drums apparently aren't as up in the mix as older releases but the vocals are much more present. I gave this a blast last night and I think it sounds really good, they did a nice job on it.A wop bop a loo bop a lop bam boom.0

just a heads up, there is a new version of Mellon Collie out in the US that corrects the sound problems. Sounds fantastic. Amazon is carrying it right now. Music Direct too.

Currently doing a bit of a sound test between this, the original Vitalogy and the 2011 reissue. You'd think the 2011 remaster spread over two LP's would be the better sounding pressing, but no way. The original is so much better out the speakers, much clearer, fuller in sound and the guitars and drums just sound that much more up front.
I also listened to the 2011 reissue of Vs, it's ok at best, had to crank it a few notch's more than most other LP's to get a decent sound out of it. It's also noticeable how compressed and tinny it sounds, though I don't have an original or another pressing to compare it to. Any suggestions on which is the best one to get on vinyl? Original?A wop bop a loo bop a lop bam boom.0 -
the remasters suck - hopefully they are taking their time with no code and yield.0

I think the the Ten Remasters are fine. Vs. isn't much of a difference between the two.
Vitalogy was the only miss IMO.

That's real interesting. I have the original and the reissue of Vitalogy and I remember at the time of release not thinking there was much of a difference. I usually just reach for the original anyway so I don't have to flip multiple sides. So I guess it's been awhile since Ive had the reissue on. Guess I'll have to check that out again.reesdog said:

Correct- and not enough of an issue to warrant buying another one IMO. Very minor.smarchee said:

And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.0 -
I have Ten and Vitalogy remasters vinyl and they sound awful... this put me off to go for Vs remaster. I did buy the Nine Inch Nails pretty hate machine reissue 2011 single LP and it was amazing. I think it's a reissue from the 1989 tapes. The have released a remaster 2LP set of this album and I haven't heard of it. I would love if Pearl Jam did the reissues from original tapes rather than shitty remasters. Soundgarden King Animal rocks on vinyl....0
