I think we are spinning our wheels right now. Newbury is sold out, 10c is sold out.

Yeah kind of a dirty trick to send out an email on April Fools (like pretty much every business/website does today, did you hear Redbox is going to have mood-touch sensors to tell you what movie to get to match your mood?) for something so limited it sells out in an hour. I didn't check my email the last 90 minutes and when I did I figured it was for sure a joke till I clicked and saw sold out.
Oh well, everyone already has this album, so this one is on clear vinyl. Another $60,000 added to the ten club coffers in between tour merch.
I predict it will go for $300 on ebay next week.

I had one in my cart and mistakenly hit continue without entering my credit card number. I then went to put it in and the order was gone. Oh well, no one to blame but myself. You win some (I got sevens) and you lose some.

Honestly, it looks like this is an endeavor by Newbury Comics (and their Brighton Limited press) and not 10Club, however, the club probably asked for an additional amount to be printed so that they could make some copies available directly to fans here.
For evidence, see how many other limited / colored vinyls Newbury will have on 4/15 that all suggest RSD but are exclusive to their site. TEN is also the only album available with 2000 units (most other is 1500).
Silly: this release. Sillier: they sold out so quickly (good thing Newbury was limiting these to FIVE per customer). Silliest: most are going to turn around and try to flip these for upwards of $200 as soon as they get them.
Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?

It's sad that this band has become all about merchandising now. "Taxing the cult".
I have thought about this and other things regarding there merchandising. On one hand people would complain if they never released anything and the other if all they did was release "new" stuff. If 2,000 copies sold out in 27 minutes then there is obviously a demand for things like this.
Now why they can't reissue other albums is beyond me.
Also, Newbury's general limit seems to be 5 of any item, no one there expected the huge surge in demand from a 10 Club email. As an indie store, they are prob lucky to sell out of some of their limited items so some cap is nice but enough of a cap to sell multiples shouldn't be frowned upon - did you ever support them before today?
I opened the email literally as soon as it was sent and automatically put one in my basket at Newbury, then I somehow convinced myself that I didn't NEED to buy this record so left it for half an hour, then changed my mind! It took two attempts with two different credit cards, and the confirmation page took well over five minutes to load, but it appears it was successful.
I'd say keep trying at Newbury because these obviously last a good while in people's baskets, so some might get released if people change their minds.

How so? 2000 people here are perfectly happy. If you don't want it don't buy it, but this is far from "sad". It's vinyl. Vinyl is awesome to a lot of people. And the band isn't all about merchandising now. Haven't you seen any shows lately? They're fucking awesome. Also, there is this new album I think....
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata
Im sorry, this is a great release for a collector. Ten on this type of Vinyl, this limited is gold. I was gutted when I thought I missed out and elated once I scored
Still gonna spin it.

I agree that there is a lot of merchandise for sale and that sometimes there is too much. But given the new album and AMAZING tour just last year, I find the notion that they are "just" about merchandise to be laughable. This is a band that is still kicking ass.
