Lots of people lean to the left here huh?

After reading many posts and comments, it is very noticeable that this page leans to the left. Just an observation.

If Neil Young and Crazy Horse or Mission of Burma or R.E.M. or Green Day or any other number of other bands had an AMT-like forum section the same would likely be true- pretty much left-leaning. If you want a right leaning forum you might try the Ted Nugent or Kid Rock or any number of Kountry star's forums.

  • I've never based my political opinions around what a band believes, and I've never chosen my music based on what a band or singer believes. good music is good music.
if you think what I believe is stupid, bizarre, ridiculous or outrageous.....it's ok, I think I had a brain tumor when I wrote that.

I am a centrist independent. I'll lean the way I think fits the situation according to what I believe personally and what may be best for the country as a whole. Not always are those two things compatible. Meaning I tend to lean toward what I think is best for the country as a whole even if it doesnt benefit me or perhaps would "harm" me .

Like a modest increase in taxes that the revenue from goes directly to the DEBT to reduce interest and pay that fucker down and off. Can be used for nothing else or it doesnt get collected. In the meantime reduce the budget deficit as well. To me it makes NO SOUND business sense to throw money away in interest payments without paying down principle and continue to spend more than you make.

Personally, I lean forward... just enough so as to keep my momentum but not so much as to fall flat on my face.

I have no label for myself. My stances on most issues - some of which have changed over time - are pretty much guided by common sense and compassion...sometimes by selfishness too.

I'm also with mickeyrat on the last part of his post.
  • @ godfather, personally I think we should do away with "sides". no more liberal/conservative, no more republican or democrat. if everyone is independent, then a person would actually have to find out about another persons beliefs rather than oh well if you're a democrat you must believe the opposite shit I believe in because i'm a republican and vice versa. I don't want to be given the title of republican because I love guns as much as I don't want to be given the title of a democrat for loving weed.

I lean left when I slice my tee shot down the fairway. It rarely does me any good.

Jason P, I don't think you're taking this thread very seriously. You know your supposed to bend your knees and elbows and pivot at the waist, not lean!

True and an excellent observation....as for I lean forward when I have to go, that's the best way for me to lean. We all must understand we are talking about politicians and they are in the bis business mostly for themselves and their EGOS.

^^^That is so true, g under p and I find I'm going back to what I once believed which is that those very politicians want us to lean any way but forward so as to keep us off balance. Not saying there aren't some very caring, altruistic and/or responsible politicians but those are becoming more and more scarce.

Keep up with the tips ... I just bought a bunch of new clubs and as far as I can tell they are defective. I thought they would help me lean right but it's worse then ever. I'm a left leaning son of a bitch and all I can do is watch the ball fly right into the side of the fucking mountainside ....

I'm out like $900 bucks and that fucking white ball taunts me! Go to your home!

Maybe just the tiniest lean slightly left of center. Yet it's amazing how everyone here is always open-minded, fair and accepting of the opinions of racists, homophobes, Bible-thumpers, gun fondlers, pro-lifers, war mongers, pot legalization foes, capitalist exploiters and polluters, big oil, human rights abusers, the Catholic Church, and Taylor Swift fans. It's one big love fest here, always.

If this was gym class picking teams I bet you'd be picked for the more liberal Lefties team on most of the social issues at least. But like probably most here, there are some issues you'd want to play on the conservative Right team... an issue by issue kinda guy. And that's admirable. Just my guess based on your posts.

left is dumb.. its forward or back. we lean forward like lux said.
Pearl Jam is progressive. they want a better, more equitable world.
so do most of us. we don't always agree on everything, but we almost all agree that greed, hatin, and violence, need to be replaced with humility, empathy, and compassion.

Why limit to only forward or back? And who determines which is which?

What's wrong with a little side-to-side action? Various shades and all that shit.

Politics, life, our personal evolutions - certainly not either/or...black or white.
