Maybe it was only on the 14th, before the other place? Does it matter? It just gives those that missed out another opportunity to go for it.

Me too. Went snowboarding yesterday, totally spaced the pre-sale.

    Got one!!!

Thanks for the info Tim. And, thanks 10c.

    I feel really bad for 10c. :(

They DID only have a limited number of vinyls that they offered and I wasn't one of the lucky people, but the bashing towards them was unnecessary, in my humble opinion.

It appears to me that they were not aware of that other place but I don't think it's their place to advertise other places, but rather letting people know to contact local independent stores when they are released to public on the 29th.

I'm sorry that some people misunderstood or misinterpreted - including myself - but to get angry over an item and attacking people?

    Yikes.

So much for the goal of peace and harmony....

I was going to call my local stores today but I snagged one from that other site and didn't want to order more than one so others would have the opportunity to do so.

Here's hoping to happiness for those people who relied their happiness on PJ stuff.

There are a very limited number of vinyl LPs of "Into the Wild" at Vinyl
Films Records exclusive web distributor http://www.auralexploits.com.

There will also be a very limited number available at select retail outlets
beginning January 29th. Please contact your local independent record dealer
    for availability.

These additional units are the exact same as the ones that were available
through the Ten Club. They will include the bonus 7". Because the Ten Club
has a very small number of copies on "reserve" to fulfill returns on damaged
or lost goods, there is a chance that some of those copies will be added to
the 10c inventory and available. Unfortunately, there is no way for us to
schedule a specific time when these would go up for sale.

    Okay..........

What exactly do they mean by " high-grade audiophile vinyl.. " ?

Is this an 180 gram virgin vinyl mastered directly from the master analogue tapes?

Or is it a 200 gram virgin vinyl mastered directly from the master analogue tapes?

And how does the vinyl I bought yesterday, differ from the mass-market release of this album, on January 29th; that makes it " high-grade audiophile vinyl.. "?

I would appreciate a response from someone at 10C. Whether it's you, Kat...who ever.

    Original announcement/message:

" Monkeywrench and Vinyl Films Records is proud to announce the release of the limited vinyl version of the soundtrack to the film Into The Wild. The release will be celebrated with an exclusive Ten Club pre-sale beginning January 14th at 10am Pacific.

Initially released digitally and in compact disc format, Into The Wild has been recorded on to high-grade audiophile vinyl. The vinyl release includes an extended version of the album track "The Wolf", plus a bonus 7-inch single with both studio and live versions of the track "No More", a 28-page full color booklet with lyrics and exclusive liner notes by Director Sean Penn.

PJ.com has a very limited number of these special vinyls, and PJ.com will be the only site on Jan.14th to sell them.

It's called marketing. But it's effing crappy that 10C has to resort to that. 10C knew other places were going to have the same exact versions. Don't be fooled.
I shit and I stink. I'm real, join the club.

A friend, he called, I didn't mention a thing. The last thing he said was, "Be sound". Sound. I contemplated an awful thing, I hate to admit. I just thought those would be such appropriate last words. But I'm still here.

I'll just take my chances that the local shop will have a copy on the 29th.

The hysteria around here is a bit too much.

How do you know, for fact, that they knew that another place was taking orders now?

Someone else brought this to their attention, obviously, and they had to straighten this out.

That we need to give 10c some credit.

so then its no longer that good of an item? is that what you are saying?

I buy vinyl to play it not so that I can flip it on Ebay for a profit because it was SOOO exclusive and I dont buy things either to brag about it years later.. but some do?

Hmmm ... so I guess I still dont understand what the problem is.. order cancellation for whoever is unhappy is always a prossibility, no?

    Absolutely!

I can't even get a response to my questions. I e-mailed them yesterday with the exact same questions, as just asked in my previous post.....no response.

I want my vinyl that I ordered yestersday, no doubt about, it I do.

But it is very disappointing no one can clarify and answer my questions.
