Actually if it's so good why aren't Pelosi, Obama and every other politician on it?
If you voted for it you should have to participate in it.
makes you wonder don't it.....
I was watching obama talk on the subject last night and I have to admit he is a smooth talker
but I just don't trust him or any other polition these days, if it really saves Americans $300 to $400 per month
in insurance cost that's great but now the people who lose thier insc at work over this bill will now pay a heck of a lot more,it seems this insc is for un-insured people and the people who work and are already insured will be paying more than they do now, after listining to both sides of this debate I just don't see how it will be as good as obama claims it to be for all Americans, it seems like more political bullshit to me,I'm happy with my current insurance thru work what will happen to it after O.C kicks in ?...too many questions not enough solid answers.

There is a real lack of understanding of this plan. Partially thanks to Faux News and any other right wing media.

O'Donnell is a liberal but what he says is absolutely true.
Ed Henry was harping at Jay Carney about "are you going to be on the plan", etc.
The ACA is not meant for people that are covered. Jay Carney has his insurance provided for him. And while I think that everyone in Washington should have to fend for themselves like the rest of us it isn't likely that the WH Press Secretary isn't covered by a pretty good plan. As Carney pointed out it is likely that Ed Henry has his insurance provided also. Ed Henry isn't "opting out" of the ACA...it just doesn't directly apply to him.
Of course it applies to EVERYONE in the sense that you can't be rejected for a pre-existing condition.
And Congress is not exempted from the ACA. It just doesn't apply to them. If their insurance wasn't provided then they would be entering the same market as everyone else.

And if they can't pay they need to be ready to be fined. The government is forcing people to buy a product. Plus it will create larger insurance companies and kill the smaller competition.0 -

Godfather.
There are a LOT of working people who do not get offered health insurance by their employers. This is for everyone without insurance, whether they work for a place that doesn't offer insurance coverage or maybe just work part time. For people who are not working at all, if they are receiving any kind of income that isn't very much they likely qualify for medicare. If their income is too much for medicare they are gonna be able to get this.
I was talking to people in and around my school about this recently. I think there are gonna be a lot of students jumping on this plan. There's a lot of people in academia whose income consists of stipends and scholarships and stuff like that who are unable to afford insurance.NYC 06/24/08-Auckland 11/27/09-Chch 11/29/09-Newark 05/18/10-Atlanta 09/22/12-Chicago 07/19/13-Brooklyn 10/18/13 & 10/19/13-Hartford 10/25/13-Baltimore 10/27/13-Auckland 1/17/14-GC 1/19/14-Melbourne 1/24/14-Sydney 1/26/14-Amsterdam 6/16/14 & 6/17/14-Milan 6/20/14-Berlin 6/26/14-Leeds 7/8/14-Milton Keynes 7/11/14-St. Louis 10/3/14-NYC 9/26/15

already getting ill hearing the calls in to radio shows from people whose plans have dropped them, or whose spouse's plan has dropped them both, and who are finding comparable coverage on "the exchange" to be nearly 100% more expensive.
business has been given a 1 year pass, and honestly, i don't ever expect to see the EMPLOYER MANDATE go in to effect.
So now we have it, people who were told they would not be affected if they were covered being very negatively impacted. The businesses that were supposed to be held up to a mandate OR FINED now NOT being held to shit, and every day middle class folks getting the shaft.
yay hope and change. If I was to smile and I held out my hand

I'd be careful to glean any info from people calling in to a radio show. The knucklehead factor is just too high.0 -

Not sure, but since they have to pay the penalty for not providing insurance, I'd say that even if they do give us more money, it's not going to be as much as it was.The only people we should try to get even with...

received a letter today from my company basically stating we could go to the exchange if we wanted BUT that they offer far better coverage than we could get on the marketplace.
Its not bad. 27.14 a week. 1800 deductable then 80/20 after that. Cap on out of pocket for the year with a HRA included in the plan. Will still look at the marketplace.
Essentially paying 3K a year before they do anything, however I pay of of pocket according the insurance discounted price. So theres that._____________________________________SIGNATURE________________________________________________

Man Who Understands 8% Of Obamacare Vigorously Defends It From Man Who Understands 5%
...
Over the course of the next half hour, the two men used their full comprehension of what reportedly amounts to several sentences at best of the Affordable Care Act to debate many facets of the 906-page piece of legislation. On separate occasions, sources said Seaver and Crawford both claimed to have done “a lot of research” on the subject.
“Okay, I hear your points, but I think there are a lot of other factors to consider,” said Crawford, boldly countering Seaver’s 8 percent knowledge of the subject with his own 5 percent familiarity with it. “It’s actually going to raise insurance costs for most people. The way it actually works is, see, there are different tiers. And these different tiers, or levels or whatever, have different co-payments. And then there’s the individual mandate, which means you’re required by law to get insurance, otherwise you pay higher taxes. So, you see, there are all these other things to think about.”
“Are you starting to get it?” Crawford added, after almost completely emptying his accumulated knowledge on the subject in one fell swoop. “It’s complicated, for sure.”
The two men, whose collective net understanding reportedly makes up, in a generous estimate, little more than one one-tenth of the entire Affordable Care Act, then repeatedly volleyed back and forth over the constitutionality of the law—a matter that sources confirmed they have a roughly 0.000001 percent knowledge of.
Sources also confirmed that the two men independently opted not to introduce at all the subjects of prescription drugs, the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, the law’s effect on small business owners, exemptions, state costs, specific penalties for opting out, effects on the marketplace, the nation’s existing overall quality of health care, any specific statistic whatsoever, and the federal budget.

Dealing with public shit sucks. The DMV is hell, the IRS is awful, student loan paperwork is dreadful, and now we Americans have to slog our way through government bullshit to see a doctor? And there are actually people actively supporting this terrible mess? Damn, Obama is the greatest politician EVER! People would argue for him while being burned at the stake after he lit the torch. Scary stuff...I found my place......and it's alright0
