thanks. i checked flights after i posted and it looks like the under $100 tickets are departing around 6am. I think i might prefer to sleep in and take an early flight on tuesday. I am trying to pick an apartment in Melbourne as I'm gonna be living there for 5 days and it would be a good opportunity to recharge in nice accomodations. In room laundry sounds like a dream come true. I'm most likely going to book at the City Tempo, if anyone knows it I would appreciate comments.

Also, Princess, you can add my name to Melbourne and Sydney 1 & 2.

I've been at this for about 18 hours. I think I'm done for the night.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

City Tempo looks good, not personal experience with it though.
    Location is great.
Flagstaff Gardens are nice to chill out in.
Plus close to everything, including transport.

I've gone and bought tickets to all the Australia dates. Should have just thrown in Auckland while I was at it but felt like I had to draw a line somewhere! I also hate festivals but it's Pearl Jam...you just have to go!

    Please add me for Melbourne.

Glad Big Day Out has brought back physical tickets this year. Last year they only issued e-tickets and it just runs the vibe for mine.

What website is commonly used in australia for hotel booking? I'm looking at US based sites (kayak, trivago, hotels.com, booking, com, travelocity, priceline, etc.) and I think I might be better off looking at Australian sites. I did a quick Google search but didn't come up with anything useful.

http://www.stayz.com.au is a good one. Go to the bottom right of the screen to choose which category you want, then choose your location
