I will peel a label off here and there, and I have like 4 bottles saved, but thats it for me. Everything else is in the bin moments after the beer is gone.severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

It was only $1 more than the regular. $33 for 4 beers! I could have bought 60 MIller Lites for that. Sometimes I think spending that much is a little crazy but "It's so good when it hits your lips."
I haven't cracked a 10th yet, but from what I've read, it's a winner. And for $7.99 in large-bottle format, it's a pretty good deal, especially for an incredibly limited release. Get ye another bottle!
Blech, Miller Lite. I have to admit, my sensitivity to beer price has completely gone out the window over the last year. Anything under $10 at a bar now sounds like a deal to me. Kinda insane.0 -
MotoDC wrote:I have to admit, my sensitivity to beer price has completely gone out the window over the last year.
This. Well not in the last year; it's been longer than that. But, yeah, price is not a thought anymore when it comes to the quality of my beer.
Though I will say Miller Lite is still the tailgate/drink a shit load of beer-beer.0 -
My biggest problem right now is that my drinking of beer isn't keeping up with my purchasing of beer. I'd probably make it through the rest of the year without buying any more right now. I guess I'd rather have that problem than the opposite.Alright, alright, alright!

So, I went to Total wine again today to get another 120 IPA and 10th Anny Ruination. The guy asked me if I was in the other day and I said yes, He tells me that it's one per customer as he pulls the bottles away. I told him I thought it was one per person per day and asked if I could have one for being honest and he handed me the 120.Alright, alright, alright!

Picked up another 10th Anniversary and a Hopasaurus Rex.
Don't know if I mentioned it before but on a budget lately and I've been drinking Bridgeport Hop Czar. Runs $6.99 a 6-pack on sale and is 7.5% and pretty tasty.#FHP0 -

Get one or both of these when they come out this year. I had a 2009 Abyss at Christmas and it was the best beer I've ever had.0 -

I have the exact same problem.
This morning I went to my beer store and the beer guy gave me his bottle of 10th anny, cause he kind of fucked me over by telling me he'd put in on the shelf thursday, and he didn't until Friday... I was there thursday looking for it, and couldn't get back there until today... anyway, he said he'd find another bottle through his distributer for himself...
While I was there I also spotted a supply of Omengang Art of Darkness... only a couple left, he said he's sold almost all 5 cases since putting them out yesterday... very glad I grabbed one...
Tried a 75 minute IPA last night, it was delicious... very much enjoyed it. Wish I could have gotten another, it seems like it would greatly improve with 6 months to a year of aging. Also tried my first Sierra Nevada Summerfest.. quite good, going to add it to my library of summertime sessionable beers...
Gonna crack open my first "rare beer club" beer tonight - Zomerhop by Brouwerj de Molen (a belguim brewery). Very much looking forward to it.
Also planning to attempt my first batch of homebrew here this afternoon... we'll see how it goes!Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -
Not sure what's on the menu tonight at youngsters house, but Im sure its gonna be good. I grabbed a Boulevard Saison Brett to bring over to get it started."FF, I've heard the droning about the Sawx being the baby dolls. Yeah, I get it, you guys invented baseball and suffered forever. Drinking a Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast. To be honest, it's a little disappointing. The flavor is not as strong as I would have liked and the mouthfeel is a bit weak.I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.0

I had a nice taster of Cascade Brewing Blueberry Bourbonic. It was intense, sour and 11% ABV. Good beer. Also had a seasonal Weizen from them and it was a great wheat beer. The guy told me it was NOT a hefeweizen though, which I am not sure I buy. It was cloudy and unfiltered from something... :PPORTLAND - 18 JUL 98 // TAMPA - 12 AUG 00 // PORTLAND - 02 NOV 00 // SEATTLE - 05 NOV 00 // SEATTLE - 09 DEC 02

I just brewed a simple pale ale... wanted to do something "easy" for my first try... although I did modify the recipe a little and add an extra blast of cascade hops at the end of the boil cause I had a bunch left over that were just going to get tossed... I figured if i added them at the end I'd at least give the beer a nice aroma...
Don't know how the whole process is going to work out... woke up this morning to check it out and the airlock on my glass carboy had eruppted and foamy krusen was everything in the bath tub (luckily I had the foresight to use the spare bathroom as my brewing room)... Anyway, i just finished cleaning it up and attached a 1" blow off tube instead... it's still bubbling, so hopefully i haven't done too much damage to the brew... did have to break the airlock a couple of times to get the hose set just right... :?
On a side note RFTC - I'm going to the feast of Saint Arnold tonight down at the brewery. If you didn't hear about it, it's a charity fundraiser put off by the brewery. A five course meal with beer pairings prepared by one of Landry's head chefs.... and the first public preview of Divine Reserve 12 too boot!Houston, Texas... Well, I've done a lot of posting about buying beer. Now it's time I review some. I had my 1st ever 120 IPA, from the November 2011 release, on Saturday for my birthday and it was delicious. Also had a Victory Golden Monkey which was decent. Dales Pale Ale in a can was good. The Weyerbacher Last Chance IPA was very good. Tonight I had the Ruination IPA and then the 10th Anny Ruination IPA, the 1st was very good and the Anny was better.Alright, alright, alright!

The wife and I went to the Red Sox-Rays game in St. Pete yesterday so I made sure we swung by Cigar City on the way home. I was able to try a few beers that I'd never had before, all which were really good. I tried 3 from Cigar City: Peach IPA, Riverwalk Pale Ale and Humidor Riverwalk Pale Ale. The Peach IPA really refreshing and highly drinkable. The standouts of the day weren't actually brewed at Cigar City, but were guest taps from Hill Farmstead in Vermont. The two they had, Nor Double IPA (which was a collaboration between Hill Farmstead and Cigar City) and Everett Robust Porter were phenomenal. The Everett was probably the best porter I've ever had.
