Until now....!!! My apologies to anyone who cant make it now but I am stoked!!! With that said...

Looking for tickets for San Antonio and both Austin dates for anyone who may not be going after all or anyone

who has an extra ticket. Will need seat info before making a deal.

    Thanx

Gonna go out on a limb and say that Ed hurt his back playing baseball in Arizona at the Cubs Fantasy Camp in late January. He plays in this every year and was photographed playing, so he was OK at that point. He more than likely tweaked his back and you wouldnt think that it would be anything serious. That was also around the same time this tour was announced and tickets started going on sale.

A week or 2 later things werent getting better and he got his backed checked out and was diagnosed and treated with rehab. Certainly no one thought he would be on the DL this long, but things happen. I wouldnt want to see a 50% effort and Vedder wouldnt want to play half ass either. So they waited until the last possible day, yeah it sucks, and postponed the tour.

How about a release of a live Vedder show for those of us who are bummed? You know its out there. Cmon something to tie us over til the fall.

This made me extremely upset for most of the day today, as I had booked a week-long (of course, non-refundable) anniversary trip to FL with my wife centering around the May 10 show in Clearwater. Vacations from work scheduled, saving money for the past 3-4 months to pay off the credit card, etc. etc. The EV show ended up being the icing on the cake, and of course the most important part is our time together which will surely still be priceless, but all told I was in for over 3 grand. I do not have a lot of disposable income and have not been on a trip of any kind in about 5 years. I guess the morals of the story are (1) my bigger concern is still for Ed's health, and subsequently, (2) that he and this band continue to create and play the music that gets me through hard days like this one. Oh, and (3) 'I'M STILL ALIVE'...! :)

It's just money. You can't take it with you, right? ;)

All I know is, the 2013 record better blow my socks off. And Alpine boots better be coming. And some US PJ dates announced soon. Then I will truly be at peace... :P

so is this a lock now that there will be no usa pearl jam shows in 2012????? it hard for me to think they have any room left on their calendars??????? this eddie tour now is gonna be end of oct on halloween till early december. then id think after the early december shows pearl jam would want to be with their family for the holidays, so there not really any room for pj usa shows now in december or november,

maybe sometime in september or october? but i doubt it? i am lookinga t soundgarden and they added a show at hyde park now after the pj tour is over in europe, making me think that maybe soundgarden will also play reading fest or other europe fest they didnt announce they will play yet in august maybe. i dont see where a pj usa tour fits anywhere in the calendar now.; before i thought october but i doubt it now?

Soundgarden aren't playing this years Reading Festival, the line ups been confirmed and they're not on it. I expect PJ to tour the US Aug/Sept, though I have to say I'm not sure how many shows they'll do and if they'll hit both coasts in that time frame?
    My PJ shows:
    London 28/10/96, Las Vegas 11/7/98, London 29/5/00, Nurnburg 11/6/00, Prague 14/6/00, Salzburg 18/6/00, Verona 20/6/00, Milan 22/6/00, Zurich 23/6/00, New York 8-9/7/03, Boston 11/7/03, Reading Festival 27/8/06, Shepards Bush 11/8/09, Berlin 15/8/09, Manchester 17/8/09, London 18/8/09, Dublin 22/6/10, Belfast 23/6/10, London (HRC) 25/6/10, Alpine Valley (PJ20) 3-4/9/11, Manchester 20-21/6/12, Leeds 8/7/14, Milton Keynes 11/7/14 To be continued....

you could not be more right.......and people will criticize you because you're a realist
    I understand disappointment.

My back injury was kind of like 3 steps forward 2 steps back. It took so much time,
no Doctor could say I would even walk again without aid. The spine very complex, fragile,
the center of all the nerves managing everything. Spine injury is so scary, it is very hard
to remain positive. It is humbling. It makes you cry in the dark by yourself.
    And beg God for help....
make a deal with the devil himself to get rid of the pain and
    to just be yourself again.

Now is the time for empathy and compassion for someone we all have enjoyed
for years, this how our own hearts lighten, brighten. Not with bitterness, criticism
    and disappointment.

Please send positive healing thoughts to Ed he has suffered and still is.

We all have to understand that these things happen - and also note that it's not often we get let down by the band in fact the total opposite I have never been disappointed by anything the band has done - especially something like this which is completely unavoidable - no doubt when he is back fit and healthy and the shows go on that he will make sure that it's an awesome tour!

Get well soon Ed - that kind of injury can be very painful - rest up and feel better :)
We need you fit and healthy so you can come out to Oz ASAP!!!! ;):);):);)

Pandora is so right about it being a time for empathy and compassion. We are all here because we have a great love for this band, and I know that all I want is for Eddie to be free from his pain and to heal completely. Sending loving thoughts and prayers to you, Eddie, and here's hoping for a speedy recovery!

I agree completely!!! Our flight is non refundable, I have convinced 3 friends from across Canada to go...and we can't afford to go again in the Fall. My first time putting in for Fan club tix and I am utterly disappointed.
Shit happens! I do feel bad for those who had travel plans. That would really suck. I don't like disappointment. Sk too bad for all of you. But I care a lot more about Eddie's well-being; I'm sure he is WAY more disappointed than any fan right now btw! He must be quite disabled if he can't even play or perform. Imagine all the other things he can't do. And he knows how much this affects some fans, and I'm sure regrets that very much. I know the financial hit is a real blow for some, but poor Ed is going through worse, so try to keep it in perspective I guess. And to anyone suggesting they should have known earlier or whatever... they obviously did the very best they could with a bad situation. These kinds of injuries can offer up real surprises at time goes by - I've had nerve damage in my arm from a neck injury, and this kind of thing is terribly unpredictable and really can seem to be getting better and then suddenly get much worse way down the road.

PS - I actually don't feel bad about anyone who didn't get refundable tickets for flights. That is just stupid. Any concert can get cancelled. All it takes is the performer being sick or hurt. Basing a whole trip on a concert and not ensuring the flight is refundable and that there is a decent cancellation policy on the hotel is really really stupid!!
Right. I only travel to see shows in cities that are interesting to me . If the show is cancelled it is not a big deal.
Visiting the the destination is the appeal to me . The concert is just icing on the cake.
Examples : I am going to see Rammstein in Montreal( the Worcester, MA gig is much closer).
Roger Waters in Boston over Hartford.
    PJ in Amsterdam over Manchester.
    GET WELL ED !!!

I agree that it is disappointing and some have lost money on travel plans, but it could be worse people.

I had gotten tickets for both Orlando shows, first night through 10c and the second night through ticketmaster. We had decided to make a vacation around it and fly down from NY to see EV, some family and the big mouse. Getting the news yesterday of the postponement sucked but i'm making the best of it. We are still going to head down and enjoy ourselves, maybe take the extra money and spend another day with the big mouse.
The saddest part was breaking the news to my 7 year old son, he was totally psyched about going to his first EV show with dad. He was disappointed as well but i told him (as I told myself) there will be other shows, dont you worry.

    I couldn't disagree more.

    Check this time line out.

    1/23/12 tour announced.

    1/25/12 this articile showed up http://vineline.mlblogs.com/2012/01/25/ ... tasy-camp/.

Stuff happens. Let's say you were injured after you bought tickets to Eddie's show and you couldn't make it. Would he be at fault for that as well?

Disappointed but what can ya do? My only concern is that the rescheduled dates fall on a week I am supposed to be out of town for work. But I am hoping that project slips into next year. They often do and it is six months away. Anything can happen.

Sorry for those who spent so much on travel. I feel for you. For once I didn't have to do that this time.

I feel bad for those with travel plans that are screwed, but you have to give it to him, at least he didn’t postpone indefinitely. They made the effort to reschedule all the dates prior to cancelling the original dates. There’s something to be said for that.

Nerve damage is no joke. I've had it and it sucks.

It must be nice to be able to sit there behind a computer and judge a person and a situation without knowing any specifics whatsoever about it. That takes skill!

I, however, seem to be lacking that skill. I know nothing about nothing, except that -- given the history of this guy and this band -- I'm confident Ed did everything humanly possible to make these shows work. They just didn't. Shit happens.

That's something this (my?) generation needs to learn: Sometimes shit happens. Sometimes shit happens to good people. Sometimes shit happens that is nobody's fault.

It's like I tell my 3-year-old daughter, whenever she wants a new toy we don't want to buy her or she wants to go to Chuck E Cheese when we've made other plans: You have to learn to be disappointed.

Life is full of disappointments, many of them much bigger than a postponed rock concert. Maybe if some of our parents had spent more time telling us "no" as children, we would be better equipped to handle the disappointment of a postponed Ed show. I don't know.

I feel for people who are out travel money (although what kind of hotel reservation is non-refundable anyway? Plus, usually airlines will allow you to apply at least a portion of the airfare to a future ticket if you have to cancel, right?).

But ... shit happens. Life is disappointing. Grown-ups suck it up and move on.

Hi Ed, I was in a similar situation as you. I had a deteriating disk that was pintching a bit on my Ulnar nerve, and it used to affect my strength in my right hand, and sometimes i would get alittle numb/tingly in my forth and fith digit finger.

I tried going to a regular specialist and pain doctor. All they did was shoot me up into the affected vertabrae , and it would immediatly take away all the inflamation causing all the issues. I found it was a temporary fix.
I ended getting some advice for a chinese woman in my office. She gave me the name of one of the best accupuctist in Tampa, FL. She was the real deal, and was one of the best natural medicine doctors in Beiing, China.

Long story short... between her accupucture treatments and diet changes ( which are very important, cause bad food feeds inflamation) she has gotten me whole again. I can lift weights, play guitar, and anything else.
Do i have days when it bothers me alittle? once in awhile. But it sure beats having a spinal fusion, that never works out too well in the long run.

Anyway...I hope you find what works best for you... just dont get down over it...its treatable.

feel better Ed, and see in December/ Tampa, FL

Like myself you know nothing about the injury or when it occurred. Quit criticising the band & Ed at any given opportunity. If they piss you off so much, stop being a fan and support another band.
