    I haven't read the 15 pages but...

If you're following someone and on the phone with 911 and have a gun
why get out of the car ? If you feel threatened stay in the car and wait for the police

It's obvious he wanted street justice and wanted to take it in his own hands

He was told to stop following the kid. Even if he ignored the dispatcher and kept following
until the police came to question what was going on. I grew up in Philly
If a car was following me I would stop and ask the guy what his problem is at the age of 17
and if he came at me of course I'm gonna defend myself.

Just seems like the kid was followed and confronted so the guy could pull his gun and say "self defense"

if you grew up in philly surely you understand that young black males are attacking other black males, asians and whites at a far more alarming rate than they are being attacked. where is the outrage and protests for those victims? philly is averaging almost one murder a day this year, mostly by young black males. where is the outrage there? sorry the kid got killed but no reason for the number of protests in the number of cities.

Why the protests? Because everyone knows who did it and he still hasn't been charged.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

It's from Billy Madison. But I agree with it in this case.

But really, what does urban violence have anything to do with Trayvon Martin and what happened here? Of course it's sad when anyone dies but urban violence has nothing to do with this and is a completely different conversation. That fact is, this kid was literally hunted by a racist psychopath because of his skin color. You think people are off base for protesting the fact that a psycho carrying a gun murdered a good young kid for no fucking reason other than his skin color and nothing was done about it? Come on.

billy madison ????? guess I got kicked in the ass by movie trivia  ...sorry cliffy.
I agree with your reply about this guy being a wacko piece of crap, I did not see or hear the racism in this case but I don't know what he was thinking...I hope it was not rasism.

  • Well, I'm sure you know people can actually use their fists, no? Not saying this is the case in this situation, I don't know, but to dismiss it as a possibility would be silly as people beat the hell out of other people everyday with their fists.
so a 17 year old kid is going to batter a 28 year old man? the man hunted him down and confronted him. if ANYONE has the right to claim self defense and punch someone to defend himself, it is trayvon martin. he was hunted down.

this is the difference between hunting animals and hunting people. sometimes people punch back...

    It was probably racially motivated.
It was probably not self defence.
    It was probably murder.

But probably shouldn't be cause to claim the man is guilty of any of those. I find it disturbing that intelligent people are so quick to judge this case as closed when there could be so much more to it that the public doesn't know.

Saying a man is black to a 911 dispatcher doesn't prove racism, it proves eyesight.

what does "these assholes always get away" mean?
what about the mumbling on that same phone call that sounds to many people like he said "fucking coon"?

of all 46 or 48 times he called 911 he was reporting young minorities, as if they were the only ones that he found to be acting suspciously. that is a pattern of prejudicial behavior and thinking right there, and it speaks volumes that he was profiling people...

this shooter lived in fear. he lived in fear of african americans. he had an irrational fear of them. and that fear caused him to hunt one of them down and murder one of them.

he carried a gun on the neighborhood watch, which he was not supposed to do. he acted like a police officer would act, which again, a neighborhood watchperson is prohibited from doing. he walked after him and pursued him when he was told not to, and he started shit with him when he clearly could have let trayvon be. this man is a coward and a murderer.

Gimmi I have been watching this all weekend on every news channel I could and to yell you the truth I think the media is making this a nation wide racism case with no real backing on their broadcasting and all that will do is create riots and more killing if this guy is not convicted of murder.

yes, gimmie, I totally get all that and I agree with you, with the information that we know. I, however, am not ready to lock the guy up and throw the key away without due process. I THINK all of what you said is true, but I can't say that I KNOW. I don't think anyone can. People have been wrongly accused and/or convicted on more information than this.

I agree with you as well. But the problem here is that not only are we not throwing away the key, but there was never even an arrest or an investigation in the first place. If it wasn't for media attention, no one would have ever investigated this case whatsoever!!

And I don't doubt that Trayvon attacked Zimmerman after Zimmerman followed him. But because Zimmerman was an idiot rent-a-cop, he put himself into a bad situation where he chose to kill someone. If he's not criminally responsible, he is no doubt in my mind legally responsible. If he doesn't pay through a prison, I think he will definitely pay through his wallet.

When I think of the Duke Lacrosse case, the Tawana Brawley case, and just so people don't think I'm only bringing up cases associated with race I'll throw in the case against Richard Jewel as well, at this point I think it's best for me not to make up my mind until all of the evidence is heard. We all know how the media tends to convict people. :?
