.......Memphis wasnt released at the same time? This is the garbage I am talking about and mentioned to Kelly Curtis when he was on here....of course I was lambasted but this simply is not fair to fan wallets. There was no need to release this date separately.....it had to be monetary reasons. "Oh it looks like you will sell that out Ed....Ok lets book it". I dont know. I do not live in memphis but it is closer for me than Florida...I could have driven instead of flown most likely. I just think its downright inconsiderate and it happens A LOT.

Did you ever think that the date was in question due to booking issues, or maybe even Ed's personal schedule?? Not everything is a conspiracy my friend.. and , lets face it, Ed doesn't even have to do these shows.. I am sure he is pretty well off and just trying to give something back to us fans.. If Memphis could have been confirmed when they decided to announce the rest of the shows, I am sure it would have been.. If you truly think there is some nasty reason for things happening this way, why the hell are you even a fan? if in your eyes they are out to get you? I am sure you are just as much of a passionate fan as I am, but sometimes things dont always work out the way we hope.. for the performer and for the fan.. and please, put it all into perspective!!!

Overall the way tours unfold can certainly be an annoying process, but this is nothing new. We've hashed and re-hashed this over and over again. They know how we feel about it, so do we need to do this over and over again?

This is a band (or Ed) playing music, not our livelihoods. You of all people need to chill the f*** out and find more constructive things to do with your free time. Just saying.

It's pretty obvious that May 1 was being held for a second night in Dallas but when it didn't sell out they added the show in Memphis in its place. I live in Memphis and already have tix for 2 shows in Florida, so it's a little frustrating, but adding a show 15 minutes from my house is better than Ed just taking the day off.

But you make it seem (by your post) that there is some conspiracy.. Ed has a family.. has kids.. who knows, maybe he had something planned, found out he could play another date later, and decided to do it.. for us, the fans!! your sense of entitlement is painful to me.. I don't know, or will ever understand a post like yours.. Ed is a person.. he has a family, has a job.. he is very fortunate to decide when he works.. but luckily for us, he is still deciding to work.. and just be thankful you have a chance to see a show..

  • I agree with a lot of previous replies. Sawyer should just be thankful he can afford to fly to Florida to see Eddie. A lot of us can't afford to travel to see him.

And Sawyer, you never know what the set lists will be. Ed may play a set list in Florida that you like more than what he plays in Memphis. I recommend you just relax and enjoy your trip to Florida....a lot of us wish we could be there but can't.

  • I agree with "sawyer"... why can't there be a honest list of tour dates given up front. If they/he adds shows due to demand, lets do it a week later and allow 10C folks to get in on a pre-sale (like Houston).
Adding shows the day of or adding a venue after the fact kind of hurts the fans that will travel (if need be) to see a show.

Granted this is not life or death, it just sucks and we should all understand that as well. I wish that there were no games played with tours. Often time they release a partial list of tour dates, sell tickets, then fill in the gaps with other locations that are more attractive than the original dates. I am sure it if very complex and us lowly "fans" should just deal with it.... cause at the end of the day, we still show up and I understand that as well.

"they don't have to do this at all" is all together BS, they do this because they love it, true.... but also because they get paid... a lot.

I think they do more for "us" than most so we should be happy but let "sawyer" have is opinion too, it is valid.

Last time EV came through Memphis, he was scheduled for one show, and a possible second show was mentioned for the next night. 10C even took tentative ticket orders for a second Orpheum show. Even though the first Memphis show sold out very quickly, the second show in Memphis never came to be. A second show in Nashville was added instead.

EV wasn't originally scheduled to play Perth last year. The promoter in Australia even apologized to the fans, acknowledging that they tried to work out Perth dates, but couldn't. A little later, the promoter announced that they were able to secure a venue, and that Perth shows would be added to the end of the tour.

Point being, they don't always know how these things will pan out. Sometimes it's a sales issue, sometimes it's booking the venue, sometimes it's because the artist has other things planned around the tour schedule. I don't think they knew it all along.

So you're mad because you are being forced to travel to a different city to see a concert than the city you would prefer to travel to? that's how booking tours works. i remember how pissed I was when they added Hershey and Holmdel to the end of the 03 tour...so pissed I bought tickets and went to both! Things happen. Shows get added. This is how it works with just about every band for every tour. If demand is such that a show can be added, they add it. Knowing your posting history, I'm pretty sure you are just complaining for the sake of it.

You know, it is just one added show like this, so it really isn't a big deal. If he added like 5 new cities, then that would be ridiculous.

Here is the solution though. If I am not sure if I will be 100% able to attend a show, or I think I may want to back out of the trip, I don't buy Ten Club tickets. I buy tickets from Tickemaster so that I can resell them if I need to. I purposefully didn't try to buy tickets for the PJ Euro tour for this reason.

As far as plane tickets go, if you are mad that you bought a ticket when a closer show was scheduled, you should have never bought the ticket for Florida as you are obviously making too much of Ed's shows if you booked a flight for some out of control need to see an Ed show and not for the joy of a vacation or long weekend.

When we all realize that "it's all about the benjamins, baby", there will be much less disappointment...until then, let's convince ourselves that PJ tours because they LIKE TO ...at least they didn't charge money for the ole' single
