I don't really know of any band the lists the whole tour anymore. There always seems to be additions to every tour, at least for large acts.

If it is a newer band you may have the whole tour mapped out right away.

Maybe in Xanadu or the bizarro word they have everything lined up for you but this is the real world we are living in.

all that said, i do agree, that it would be nice to get the full city list up front.

I agree with you 81. Although it would be nice to have the full tour layed out up front, it's never going to happen. it is a business and those running it will make decisions based on information they have at the time. Fans also have to make decisions based on the information they have at the time. We all know how the fan club tickets work and we all know how releasing show dates work.

Solution for OP, especially since he apparently has issues dealing with the 10 club ticketing process is to buy tickets that you can resell if plans need to be changed.

How is it never going to happen? Plenty of bands release their full tour itinerary up front. I get additional shows being added in cities, but I don't see why it would be so hard to release the full list of cities

maybe 'never' was too strong a term. What I meant is that booking a tour can sometimes be a complex process involving a lot of planning and negotiating with many different venues. It seems that when a tour is announced, there may be dates and venues that haven't been finalized yet, but they don't want to hold up selling all the others. Or they may have 2nd nights and extra dates and venues on standby that will be released depending on the demand for the tour.

I have seen tours where the whole thing is layed out up front and doesn't change, but more often, tour dates are released in pieces, maybe the majority is announced up front and then additional dates trickle in later (or dates are cancelled due to low sales).

Ok- so you don't think they should have back up options? So if a May 5th date is possible, no show should be added? Less shows is better than more shows?

Not saying less shows is better at all. Just saying it sucks to add a new city after all of the other dates were announced...that is all. Especially when they know how much we all travel to the shows.

I see what you are saying, but, if Dallas had sold well, Memphis probably would not have happened. I guess they could put out dates and also say " Hey, if Dallas does not get a 2nd show, we may add Memphis, Little Rock, Nashville, Lexington, Atlanta, or Charlotte. So just a heads up, we have 6 other potential back up spots." I don't see that going over well. And Its not like the south was a sure thing for sell outs like the north east or west coast. I see it more as a good thing for the local people in Memphis.

  • It's a lose lose situation. If they waited to finalize everything, people would complain that there isn't enough time to plan a trip, and the other complaint is what you hear in this thread.

Not everything is worked at one time, they are all individually negotiated. So if one is later it is announced later.

Just sell the tickets and buy the Memphis ones. I don't understand the problem here.

Actually it isn't. He plays about 5 or 6 uke songs and around 25 non uke songs.
