  • could they not have either staggered the sale so one gig at a time, manchester at 5pm, amsterdam at 6pm etc or only allowed members to buy 1 or 2 gigs for the first day then open it up if there are any left ?

Amateur hour. If most people did their jobs this poorly, they wouldn't have jobs. The complete lack of information only underscores that someone is simply not doing their job. A simple post, even one saying, "Hang in there, we're figuring things out right now and will have information to you in X number of hours" is not too much to ask. Thousands of PJs true fans rearranged schedules, put off important tasks, saved up money, put aside family and other important obligations because they care so much about this band. Is it too much to ask that the band (or more importantly, those behind the scenes) actually care even just a little in return?

You want to run the band like a business and nickel and dime the fans for every little trinket and overpriced hoodie and pair of socks, fine. But if you're going to run this band like a corporate business then you're going to have to start acting like one. That means accountability, that means your "customers" are always right, that means you serve those who keep you in business. Corporations that don't do that cease to be solvent and eventually cease to exist.

The sheer ego behind all of this is staggering. It's insulting. It's like, "We're so big and so awesome that we can do whatever we want, treat our fans however we want. If they don't like it, there's plenty more in line right behind 'em, so who cares what you think or how long you have to wait or how much you have to pay. If you don't like it, too bad for you." This is an amateur operation, run by amateurs who don't have clue one what they're doing. It's all ego, no delivery. I'm truly and honestly disgusted.

You can't even keep your own web site running properly with a mere few hundred fans logged on. Are you kidding me? Is this the 1995 version of the Internet or something?

    I am 110% with you

    :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Its time 10C hit a bit of reality.

They are like a multi-million dollar operation run from the back of a shed.

  • So sorry for everyone! I missed the dead-line on the 5th & I tried with the live nation pre-sale, this morning 9:00, trying to get 2 tickets for Stockholm... NO chance, it sucks, it seems we're all in the same boat... :(

You can still get tickets from ticnet.se tomorrow morning. Live Nation presale was just an "exclusive" presale for Live Nation "members"...

    oh yes, I know, I'm a member of livenation.se, ticnet.se etc.
    it's just absolutely nerve-wracking!!!

I don't even think an apology would suffice this time. This shit happens every time there has been a PJ or EV tour in the last few years. They don't learn. They don't care. Saying sorry again just brushes the problems under the carpet and solves nothing.

That's a bit unfair. If they didn't care, they wouldn't have gone external to try to improve it. That they did that, even if it was just as bad, does at least show that they did try to fix it.

Staggered pre-sale sounds like a pretty good idea to me. Anything to prevent the enormous crowd surge (excuse the pun) we saw yesterday.

I'm not saying it would suffice, but it's literally the very least they could do. They're not even interested in paying lip-service to the idea that they give a shit any more. The band really need to address this. In many ways 10C is the interactive face of Pearl Jam and they simply do not care about their customers. If Pearl Jam is really happy for that to continue, that is more than a little disappointing.

Although I am sad and frustrated right now, I just know that PJ only need to hit one note and look at the crowd with their puppy eyes to make me forget it all. It's like a tattoo: when you get it, it hurts like hell and you think 'never again' but once the pain has faded you go for it all over again ;-)

Yay. They kinda tried to do their jobs. No, they don't actually care. Out-sourcing their work does not mean they care.

I don't think they care. Their reaction since the pre-sale shows thats. It crashed, what 13 hours ago? And all we've had from 10C is the message that shows on the CrowdSurge website. Its not good enough. They don't communicate with the people that keep them in a job. Everytime there is a fuck-up, they do nothing, they don't address the issues. Look at everything that has gone wrong since Alpine with the backpacks, dvds etc and they choose to ignore it. I don't care about that but I do have a problem when a business that sells itself on providing tickets to Pearl Jam fans, cannot even do that properly. And this isn't a new thing. Its every tour. Again, if they cannot provide this service they shouldn't offer it.

I understand where you're coming from, and they definitely should be giving us a lot more information. But they did try to fix it. That's all I'm saying.

    So this still isn't sorted...

The 02 Priority Sale for Manchester starts today and General Sale starts on Friday. Come on Pearl Jam, don't screw us. Do a bit of proper due diligence before working with a partner like Crowdsurge.

If they really care, though, they would have taken measures to ensure this wouldn't work. It's like trying to cover a bleeding would with an oily rag. Do it right or don't fuckin' do it.

'We' wanted 10C to outsource, 10C outsourced. They did so with an independent ticketing company (thus avoiding the much hated - by 'us' - Ticketmaster). To be fair, they listened and they tried. Unfortunately, there were issues. I must say though (and I've said this in another thread), I have used Crowd Surge for big presales before with no hassles. Crowd Surge are trying to sort things out - hopefully it will work as it should.

They did not take this externally. They used the same shitty servers as before...

    Hahaha

CROWDSUGRE.... even the name means fuck-up....

Why does a band with 20 years of heritage still run itself like a school project?

The problem was with CrowdSurge. Even when I bypassed the 10C portal and went direct to the CrowdSurge site, it still threw my tickets out of the cart as soon as I put them in.
