Everyone got the same email from TC that said when it was going on sale and that it's limited.
There's been many valid reasons stated in this and other threads about why people couldn't buy it before it was sold out. If everyone did buy at the first day, as in concert tickets go on sale, then the inadequate amount available would have been evident then. Either way there is clearly demand for more than they ordered from the manufacturer.
Valid reasons... Are you kidding me?
In three and a half weeks, you couldn't find 10 minutes to buy something that matters this much to you??
Having no money is not an excuse... Use a credit card, mow your neighbors lawn or stand in front of Home Depot. There is always people looking for manual labor.
There are tons of thing I've wanted that were PJ related when I had no money. If I wanted it bad enough, I found a way to get it done. I desperately wanted to go to the Orpehum show in 1994 but only had $5 dollars left to my name after going to Springfield & both Boston Garden shows. I had 1 day to come up with $95 to scalp an upper balcony seat... Guess who went to The Orpheum?? (Just a hint... I didn't bitch & moan to get the ticket)0 -
Special Ed. DVD too, please!Hearts and thoughts they fade....
fade away...
I am at peace with my lust.....for Eddie.0 -

The attitude of some of the posters in the past few pages is very disappointing. I cannot understand what prompts someone to start telling anyone who didn't buy it to "get over with", etc. Ok, we missed out. We may have missed out for good but we're at least trying to see if more will be produced. What's it to you? You can just ignore this thread and carry on posting on other ones. The people posting in this thread have, for the most part, been calm and made the points without going to extremes. I mean, does it really bother you that much that a petition is going on for this? Would you not want a few more (hundred/thousand) fans be happy by getting more sets produced?0

I'm surprised about the negativity that is shown about people wanting more of this.

As several people have pointed out, had everyone who genuinely intended on buying it the second it was available, it would not have lasted three weeks. It may have only lasted three hours. It was not presented as an extremely limited supply Benaroya-type situation despite the words "limited edition" being included (let's face it, 75% of what the 10C sells is "limited"
) So all of these ignorant people who keep spewing the "you had three weeks" bullshit sound like a bunch of children. We only had three weeks because obviously lots of people didn't jump at shelling out $70 for mysterious content while others could afford to act more blindly.

Completely agree! I've been around a few scalpers in my time, and the negativity these fu@ks are spewing sounds just like them..."Get over it"...."You had time"....."Quit whining".......
The only point to that is to gloat that they got it and shove it in others face that they didn't. I make plenty of money to be able to afford thousands of these--I just didn't have the time. I'll not be buying this on ebay or anywhere else. I'm sure it will be posted on YouTube, or other streaming media sources in the near future. I of course would like to see it and purchase it when it is released, and that is why I'm hoping more are produced for myself and every other fan who would like to buy it that wasn't able to because of the limited amount produced.0 -
I see the goods section has finally been updated to remove the LE sets and has now reverted back to the book/soundtrack front. Can we take this as a hint that there isn't going to be anymore?0

All kidding aside... It's been like that for well over a week now, maybe two.
Maybe you had to clear your cache or cookies or something... I don't know, I'm not a computer nerd.0 -
I don't take anything from 10c pulling it down. I get the sense that Cameron Crowe makes the call what happens on the 3rd disc, not 10c.
As emotional as I have been over the bluray le not being available anymore, I respect 10c for allowing us to voice our displeasure here. Doesn't matter if it's one thread. A sincere thanks 10c, at least on that point. My 22 shows:

Not trying to be a dick here but "I just didn't have time" isn't a great excuse for something that supposedly means that much to you.
Everyone is able to find time when tickets go on sale...
You couldn't wake up 5 minutes earlier or go to bed 5 minutes later? You work 7 days a week?
Do you get a lunch break? You literally didn't have 5 minutes of "me" time in 3 & 1/2 weeks?
Sorry, Not buying it!
If you make so much money just go on ebay and buy one. Problem solved & no need to bitch any further.0 -
Also missed the boat (too busy making making wine this time of year!).
I'd love to get a copy of the Deluxe Edition (not BluRay). If anyone has an extra copy, please email me at sparksgillis@yahoo.com.
many thanks...0 -

I didn't realise this before. It's possible I haven't cleared my cookies/whatever but I had been checking it every day for the past week or so and only this evening did I get the new (old) front.JeffSide wrote:Not trying to be a dick here but "I just didn't have time" isn't a great excuse for something that supposedly means that much to you.

But tickets are on sale at a pre-determined time. Everyone knows the time and logs on. This is a different situation. I'm not speaking on behalf of anyone in this regard though. Personally, I'm not using time as an excuse since I had the opportunity to buy it and I didn't since I didn't realise it would sell out over 2 weeks before its "release date"0 -
Yessssss and limit one per order0

Sorry, I meant that they updated the front landing page of the goods section. They are still listed on the PJ20 page. I re-read my original post and can see I didn't explain it right.0 -

You don't know what there plan was... You're only speculating!
Maybe they didn't know what to expect and said they will print as many as they can sell through "x" date.
Maybe not... All I know is I only needed about 10 minutes after the email was sent out to buy it. It said "limited" so I wasn't waiting to see if it sold out in 3 hours or 3 weeks!
In regards to info about the DVD, They did say disc 2 is all the performances from the movie uninterrupted!
That's all I needed to hear/read! Didn't care what was on disc 3 at that point!0 -
crazygeo wrote:So at concerts if there is NOT enough tickets it should turn into a Woodstock show...CLIMB THE FENCE........??????
You are comparing apples to oranges. A dvd and a concert are two vastly different experiences. A concert is live music in person. A dvd is recorded content and generally viewed at home and obviously lasts a considerably longer period of time. Plus, all venues have a set number of seats for a concert. There is no way to apply that same gauge to the production of any given number of dvds.JeffSide wrote:There's no one else to blame but yourself if you didn't buy one...
Everyone got the same email from TC that said when it was going on sale and that it's limited.
This still does not address the argument that it shouldn't have been limited. And more importantly, it doesn't make any sense for TC to send an email about it to every single person in the club if there aren't enough copies for every single person to begin with.rival. wrote:everyone who missed out should settle for the $15 standard edition, and be happy they are getting the same movie while saving $55.
They are getting the same movie for less money yes, but they aren't getting the same content. You can purchase the standard edition anywhere, from 10c or Amazon or Best Buy and more. The whole point of this thread is for people to petition the 10c to release more special editions that are only available through 10c.0
