You know this was a 10/10 concert...I would really love to see them come to your guys area again...but I really do think not this time around...I would love to be wrong trust me...I just don't think it will happen...but like I said I really hope I am wrong...
See, that's why Eddie and the boys have to play Halifax again, and not somewhere in New Brunswick. Can you imagine Eddie drinking and groovin' with a case of Moosepiss ? No. Me neither. He woulda taken a swig of that shit, gotten sick, blown a few chunks and vowed to never return to the Maritimes. It woulda been a disaster. Didn't you hear what he said last year (?): "If this is the worst beer I've ever tasted, you're in big fucking trouble." Ahem...need I say any more ?!
As it now stands we have a chance to see the boys return - even if the chances are slim. But a slim chance is better than none, which is exactly where we woulda stood if Eddie hadda tested any of that toxic gooch-juice. So lets all thank the Lord for that act of Providence back in 1820, and the fateful consumption of Alexander's brew last September 22nd. Talk about synergy !! And Jesus fuck, it will happen again, or my name isn't Truthmonger !!!!

FYI: you can buy Keith's in NB. (i know you probably know this already, but i live in NB and as crappy as it can seem sometimes, it's really not that bad of a place, and we can't be judged on moosepiss alone...there are many fabulous microbreweries here too...Picaroons, Pumphouse...)
besides, I live here...that should make it fabulous enough god damnit!

Oh, I'm just shootin the shit. New Brunswick is part of the Maritimes - so how could it be anything other than kick-ass ?! Now lanners, you know I wouldn't dis New Brunswick. And I'll tell ya this - there's a shitload of PJ fans in N.B., so it can't be all bad !!!
Yes, I did know you can buy Keith's in N.B.. I was merely laying it on thick for purposes of chewing the fat 'n all. Its funny, when I hear you talk about the east coast, it makes me want to move back there. Badly. If I had a way to make a good buck I probably would. And it gets worse the older I get. That's why its such a drag when there was no PJ down east this summer. I was hoping to make a real trip out of it.
Hey, you got any bright ideas about how to make some big dough and live the life of Riley while livin' on the east coast ?! That seems to be my goal in life now.
other than living the life illegal (or working as the new Keith's spokesperson) making big bucks on the East Coast is only possible through winning the lottery...although Paul McCartney seems to think there's a lot of money to be made in eco-tourism around these parts. (any arguments about this topic should go straight to the Moving Train!)

sea urchins...export to asian market...that is the answer truthmonger...big money!
listening to it right now, the halifax show. that little interlude in daughter, with the crowd singing, its so amazing. couldn't imagine being there.
Betterman was incredible "that was some good halifax campfire singing right there" ED said. i think everyone there was singing at the top of their lungs

Maybe not this promo leg of the new album tour, but perhaps the next one or some other time all i know is that i'll see them again
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
I think I've seen it all now. Was that Eddie doing the moonwalk as he and the band were leaving the stage after the 1st encore in Halifax ?! That's what he seems to be doing on that google video. Pretty funny.
'we hope for the future that our lives don't get so busy, yours and ours, that we can't do this again... '

The longevity of the fanview thread and this one are all the more reason why the band NEEDS to come back to Halifax. What other North American PJ show has had this kind of effect on it's fans. When you listen to the Halifax boot you almost get the impression from Ed's rants that they would really like to come back someday...hopefully soon.
The closest show to me right now is Boston and I'm kind of on the fence about going especially since they haven't announced all the dates yet. I'm not sure if I could drag my wife to Boston again for another concert since we've been there twice in the last 6 months. Decisions, decisions!
i love mountain bikeing in the woods. last fall i would hit my favorite trail with the HAli' bootleg on my ipod. and just think about the trail the music and nothing else. my heaven thanks to Pj.
Halifax '05 First show not last. i will travel if i have too.
some jackass multiple posted and we're getting bumped down too far...sooooooo...
BUMP BA BUMP BUMP
gotta keep the East Coast love alive!
okay, how bout we each recap a couple of our favourite songs/moments from the halifax show:
Betterman (for the sing-along!) Small Town (because i've always wanted to experience the "I just want to scream HELLO!" part live, and i wasn't disappointed!) In My Tree (my seats were so high the sky i scraped but this song still blew me away)
hard to imagine - couldnt believe my ears
breathe - I nearly had a heart attack
Jeremy - green light on jeff during open notes
you are - awesome lighting
Please come back
9/20/05 - Quebec City
9/22/05 - Halifax
6/19/08 - Camden
6/28/08 - Mansfield 9/07/11 - Montreal 5/05/16 - Quebec City
you and my brother both. maybe i should have added that moment to my list. i have NEVER in all my life seen my younger brother so happy as when they played Breath.
Leatherman- is one of my favorite rarities.
Love boat captian- I am not the biggest fan of this song but they did it great here.
Everything else was great!
Well, as many of you know, I didn't actually attend the show. But after listening to the boot 21,576 times, after watching the 58-minute video, after seeing countless pics of the show, after absorbing every little piece of minutiae I could aboot[sc] the show, and, after being in the Metro Centre numerous times over the years for concerts past, I feel I was an honourary attendee. So here goes.....
Hard to Imagine - wicked opener. couldn't ask for more
In My Tree - how could anyone not like this tune ?
Small Town - heard this song 4 million times, never get sick of it.
Also noteworthy:
RVM - awesome long version
Not For You - second half of that song kicks ass. keep hearing new things.
Bushleaguer - moody ending. I like it ! ah yes, the immenseness of suffering.
Down (replete with a Tiverton balancing act). Replicate that one you half-assed mf'ing tribute bands !!
One thing aboot the show that I noticed, and it was something that someone from Calgary brought up. This person had gone to both the Calgary and Halifax shows and mentioned that, at times, the Halifax crowd seemed to be a bit reserved. I presume he meant for the singing parts, which I noticed myself on Love Boat Captain and a few other songs. Maybe I'm totally wrong, but I get the feeling that some people in Halifax might not have known that the concert was going to be such a sing-a-long. Or was it simply that those parts didn't show up on the boot ?! I dunno. But I think one thing is certain - should they ever return, I don't think someone will be pointing out how reserved the Halifax crowd was. (and just for the record, I don't think Halifax was all that reserved, except for maybe the singing parts somewhat)
And oh yea, no one commented on Eddie doing the moonwalk at the end of the second set. I LMFAO over that.
I honestly don't think that the boot does the Halifax crowd justice. The band seemed impressed at how loud the crowd was singing along and Ed even stated that it was an honour that we knew the words to the songs. I don't even find the video on Google captures the sheer intensity of that show of both the band and the crowd.
oh my god Im so happy someone found that google video.. my first Pearl Jam concert.. everytime I watch it.. I don't know, something weird happens.. happy tears without tears.
The folks down in Alabama would love the chance to see PJ in Halifax again. We loved visiting N.S. and want to do it again!!!!!!
Halifax 2006.....sounds like a winner to me.
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
