To the band members of Pearl Jam and the powers that be within the Pearl Jam management infrastructure:

We the people of the forgotten part of Canada (anywhere East of Québec City) are eternally grateful that you didn't pass us by during the recent Canadian Tour. In fact most of us who were privvy to the incredible performances are still in shock. It is rare that we have the opportunity to take part in large arena concerts by our favourite band(s) because no one seems to know we exist.

Well, we do, and as you may (or may not) recall, we rocked and we did it HARD!

It may seem ungrateful on our parts to be making this request, but if y'all could find it in your hearts to grace us with your presence again we would be eternally grateful+infinity, which you have to agree is a lot.

Reasons why Pearl Jam should come back to Halifax or the Atlantic Provinces:

1) Keith's-We have it on record that Ed enjoyed his first taste of Keith's (photos are available, and check his dialogue before Down on the Halifax Bootleg). There is a lot of Keith's available in these parts.

2) Surfing-you can go surfing outside Halifax

3) Friendliness-we are renown for being some of the friendliest people in North America

4) Keith's-There is an entire brewery of Keith's at your disposal in Halifax

5) Tons of other fans who weren't able to get tickets have the right to share in the incredible PJ experience, right?

6) You didn't play Black, Light Years, Man of the Hour, Harvest Moon, etc...the first time through. We'd like to hear them, please. (This is NOT a complaint by any means!)

7) It looked like a lot of fun was being had onstage and it was reflected in the music. The Halifax boot is one of the top boots for the Canadian Mini-Tour.

8) You seemed to like it here. We were but stones but your light made us stars!

9) Ed said that if your lives and our lives don't get too busy maybe we could do this again sometime. Well, this year could be sometime, right?

There are no reasons why you shouldn't come back. Some things are better the second time around and we, the underposted, swear that we will sing louder, cheer louder, and pass the beer to the front faster.

So please, PLEASE won't you think of the good times had by all in Halifax and come back for some more!

  • Good man. I was thinking.....is he gonna post that or what ? Yes, PJ MUST come back to Hfx.. People are still buzzing about September's concert, and another in '06 would kick some serious ass. I would make the trip from Toronto in a heartbeat, and I get the feeling many others would as well.

One trivial little sidenote: I always wondered if Eddie was making a veiled comment about Ticketwhore when he made those comments about the concert selling out in a matter of hours and that, "where we come from, it is greatly appreciated" (or something like that).

I'm just gonna say that last year's Halifax show was the greatest experience of my life and I know PJ can come back and top it!!
Lying sideways atop crumpled sheets and no covers he decides to dream. Dream up a new self. For himself.

I was waiting to see if i could get some more feedback from you guys before posting it. After realizing i may have killed the thread (i am notorious for killing threads) i decided to go ahead with it.

I am more than willing to continue editing if anyone wants something added to it or omitted.

    i support this thread!
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
  • you should come back too olderman! :)

Sorry Lanners, hehehe. You know what happens when you ASS-U-ME something !! Anyways, hopefully this thread will pick up some steam and we'll get this idea rollin'. Too bad it wasn't on The Porch, there were 287 people logged-on there when I looked on thurs or fri.
  • I had never seen the Twofeetthick concert chronology thing.

Brought back some serious deja vu from the London show. I'm putting it on now, and I'm gonna play it loud!

    :D
  • Halifax was such an amazing show... WOW. That whole weekend was just beautiful!!! So yes PJ if you can do it again, please do!!!!

hey, you can call me whatever you want if it will bring the band back.

should we cross-post this on the Porch? I figured since it was a request for a concert that it would go on Given To Fly. What do you think? Does someone want to post it there as well? As i'm still afraid i'm a thread killer it might get more responses if one of the more prominently known posters does it.

Now LET'S BRING THE BOYS BACK WHERE THEY BELONG!

  • I enjoyed my 21 hours in Halifax immensely. Wish I could have stayed longer but was working in Maine the day before and had a 9 hour drive there the day of the show, and had to scootle on up to St. John's the next day. Maybe I can arrange to stay a little longer next time they play there.
    I will feel....alive....as long as I'm freeeeeeee...
  • Here here! Bring that beat back.

I would wait another 26 hours for tickets to see another show in Hali. This is definitely the greatest post concert buzz I've ever had. Still daydream about the show.

wow. That is a sick amount of driving.

Had an amazing time at the Halifax show. Better than the show I saw 2 nights before in Quebec City (still great). Had a ball at the casino right after winning near a 100 bucks.

I never thought growing up two hours away from Halifax in blueberry country I would get to see the greatest band ever play in Nova Scotia.

yes, blueberries are full of antioxydents and therefore will prolong their lives and they'll be able to make music for many many more years!

just think ***HALIFAX 2045-The Octogenarian Tour***

oh geez, forget that! i'd rather see the boys when they are still young and fresh rather than in diapers and being held up by walkers.

  • If halifax gets the common wealth games, second biggest sporting event in the world, a new staduim will be built in Dartmouth that would seat at least 6 times the amount of people as the metro centre. The plans to the staduim look awesome and with the rolling stones concert and pearl jam concert, you can bet other bands will take advantage of this stadium.

I know this is off-topic, but where did you see the plans for the stadium ? Are they online anywhere ?
