Well....the 2nd leg will be announced soon. This thread should be growing with more wishes and hopes of a return. Soon we will know and the fun of dreaming will be over whether for better or worse. Halifax '06. Why would they not come back? Let the replies roll!!!!!!
I remember being told by a friend who is involved in booking shows (was not involved in the PJ booking though) and he was saying that in most cases, the bands don't have a lot of say in where they play. They decide they are ready to tour and leave it up to mgt to look at the logistics of where they play. So....in terms of a 'Canadian' tour, I can see why we were included...but in terms of this current tour, I just can't see how we'll place. Logistically, we just seem to far off the beaten path to make as a stop...unless...it is part of a greater show...ala Rolling Stones....
Who knows though..I am hoping as much as the rest of you...
roll over beethoven,
tell tchakosky (sp?) the news.
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
Yeah, I read in the paper today that the new rumour is Coldplay. Who knows who it will be? There have been so many bands/artists mentioned that I don't really take any of them seriously anymore. I just hope they make an official announcement soon because the anticipation is killing me.
*ducks to avoid the attack of the Coldplay haters!*
Hey...I hear ya. I'm not a huge Coldplay fan...but my wife loves them...and they seem like a band that is pretty kick ass live..although I doubt they stray from their setlists much...but for a casual fan...who cares. As long as it brings out a crowd...and really..I think they can package Coldplay with some interesting bands. I love and respect Tom Petty..but a Petty/Fleetwood Mac bill does not appeal to me. Unless of course, ol PJ is involved ;-) I suspect Labor Day weekend PJ will be off to Europe though.
I will be moving back to NB after living in Halifax for 10 years this summer. Can't they come to throw me a going away party? Seems like a good idea to me.......
Did any of you guys watch the junos? Nickelback was rocking so hard their amps caught on fire.
LOL.. yeah that could be some kind of hazard, someone should check that out for them as much as I dislike Nickelback, they were ten times better than that shitty closing band. wtf?? sweet jeebus, they were terrible!! their lead singer was like a cross between Mick Jagger and Pee Wee Herman on speed.

This was the first time I've seen this thread slipping off the 2nd page... let's keep the hope alive!
so...what can we talk about that will get interest sparked about Halifax?
ooh, other than the fact that this year's Juno awards rocked and should start bringing more attention to the Martimes.

Must say...Coldplay seemed really cool...might make me a believer yet....although there were a few too many Bono moves for my liking ;-)
