In n Out
Five Guys is good, but I think the burgers are kind of greasy. And overpriced. In n Out is better and better value.DAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13

We don't have In and Outs in Chicago.. Five Guys is ok, but over priced for what it is..
My favorites include, Fuddruckers, Red Robin, Culver's and of course White Castle (when intoxicated).
I had Sonic once and it was the most overrated generic fast food I had ever had. There was nothing special or unique about it. It just tasted like a million other small chain fast food joints. Nothing special.
BTW, Does "In and Out" refer to people pooping the stuff out?Thats all I can think about when I hear the name.

The survey, which ranked hamburgers at 18 fast-food restaurant chains, also found that burger giants McDonald’s, Burger King and Wendy’s performed near or at the bottom of the taste-test pack.
The survey polled 28,000 Consumer Reports subscribers to determine the best and worst burgers around the country.
The burgers, ranked from best to worst on a scale of 1 to 10, were as follows:
1) In-N-Out Burger, 7.9
2) Five Guys Burgers and Fries, 7.9
3) Fuddruckers, 7.7
4) Burgerville, 7.6
5) Back Yard Burgers, 7.6
6) Culver’s Frozen Custard, 7.5
7) Whataburger, 7.3
8) Hardee’s, 7.2
9) Carl’s Jr., 6.9
10) Checkers Drive-In, 6.9
11) White Castle, 6.7
12) Wendy’s, 6.6
13) Sonic Drive-In, 6.6
14) A&W Restaurant, 6.5
15) Krystal, 6.3
16) Burger King, 6.3
17) Jack in the Box, 6.3
18) McDonald’s, 5.6
In August, Zagat Survey released a study ranking the best restaurant chains in the United States. The online survey polled 6,518 respondents and rated Five Guys and Red Robin Gourmet Burgers as having the best burgers in the fast food and full-service categories, respectively.

See now, if this test was done by drunks, White Castle would have taken the number 1 spot. lol.0 -
Can't comment on In 'N Out since I've never had it, but I just got back from Five Guys and it was damn good. Still, nothing tops Johnson's in Siler City, NC or Bill and Leah's in Kernersville, NC for my money.I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.0

I have had both and the winner in my book is STILL In' Out!!!
God I miss that place I'm half tempted to ask my brother in Cali to mail me some.. LMAO!!0 -

They're both good... Five Guys has cajun fries so that wins for me.
I'd also add what others have -Culvers in the midwest is great. They have TONS near PJ20... I recommend them to anyone coming in that hasnt had one yet (they have branched out quite a bit in the country).
But I'd go with Smashburger over both... they just opened here and I have to say they will be the reason I have a clogged artery way too soon.0 -
