jeter will go meet him 100%
Yep, the Yankees will definitely send him to the locker room to meet Jeter.

He possibly has a chance to pass Biggio by the end of the season.

I go with what Elias provides and it has Collins at 3,314. Back in those days, there are various differences, such as Hack Wilson's RBI total during the year he had 190.

Ah, I see, even so, that's a one hit difference. I wanna know where the discrepancy is of who's not ahead of him on the list to make him 9th. Rose?

According to Elias, Wagner has 3,430 hits, 10 more than the list you posted and Cap Anson is 19th with 3,081.

It looks the big discrepency is with Anson, who played in the 19th century.

I read they don't know exactly how many hits Anson had and that some people don't think he should be on the list because he played 5 years in a different league.

Just checking out his wiki page -

"Career hits totalThere has been some controversy as to whether Anson should be considered the first player ever to reach the 3,000 hit milestone. For many years, official statistics credited him with achieving that goal.

When the first edition of Macmillan's Baseball Encyclopedia was published in 1969, it disregarded a rule in place only for the 1887 season which counted base-on-balls (walks) as hits and times-at-bat instead of 0's in both categories as they were before and have been since. Anson's 60 walks were removed from his 1887 hit total, resulting in a career mark of 2,995, though later additions of the Encyclopedia would still add 5 more hits to exactly 3,000.[6]

The other controversy over Anson's total hits had to do with his five years in the National Association.[14] Neither the Macmillan Encyclopedia editions nor Major League Baseball itself at that time recognized the NA as being a true major league.[6] Only recently has Major League Baseball accepted the NA as a de facto major league; the MLB.com website now includes the NA years in Anson's record, placing major league hits total as 3,418.[14] Anson is officially placed at seventh in the all-time leaders in hits.

Other sources credit Anson with a different number of hits, largely because scoring and record keeping was haphazard in baseball until well into the 20th century.[15] Beginning with the publication of the Baseball Encyclopedia, statisticians have continually found errors and have adjusted career totals accordingly. According to the Sporting News baseball record book, which does not take NA statistics into account, Anson had 3,012 hits over his career.[16] The National Baseball Hall of Fame (which uses statistics verified by the Elias Sports Bureau) credits Anson with 3,081 hits.[17] This figure disregards games played in the NA, but includes the walks earned during 1887 as hits."

That sums it up, that's why you'll see a lot in stories, according to the Elias Sports Bureau, especially with really older statistics.

On a side note, since tonight is my girls 30th birthday party and 3,000 is done with, I will no longer be going to the game tomorrow. If anyone wants two tickets let me know. Section 411, Edit: Row 11 actually, I am an idiot. A ways up.

At some point, you should congratulate her for sharing the day with OJ Simpson and ex-Royals speedster Willie Wilson.

haha. Yes sir. Going to be a rough one. Her actual birthday was last weekend but since it was the 4th and everyone was at the shore, we are having her party this weekend.

ahh, yes, it has been discussed. We have spoken about it and she knows where I stand. Getting there but not ready yet.

haha, thats pretty funny. Like I said in response to JP, her actual bday was last weekend but having the party this weekend because it was a holiday weekend last weekend. It's a suprise party though and she doesn't have a god damn clue.

All I'm sayin' Cliff is, it's all well and good you guys have talked about it, but you never know what the big 3-0 does to a woman and what you know about her. Or at least think you know. :D

Haha, I hear you man. I am prepared for it, but she has been fairly sane the last couple weeks. We'll see but I think she knows it will happen and is comfortable with where you are at. I certainly expect some comments when she is drunk though. No doubt about it, and I think her friends will be on me worse than she will.

No doubt. Nothing like some passive aggressive comments when everybody's hammered. And of course there's the friends - every girl obivously wants to be the first one married, or close to, so they can do nothing more than make the rest jealous. Welp, good luck with all that.

She went to West Chester right?

Yeah, thanks man. There will definitely be plenty comments tonight, I am sure. My mom is on me about it more than anyone though.

She went there for 3 or 4 semesters then transferred to Temple.
