Yeah seriously, I paid over 200 for tickets to The Police for last summer and this summer. And WELL OVER that for FRONT row. I am still shocked that I will be able to see these guys for 80ish bucks.

It frustrates me as well. I honestly don't see what the problem with posting the tickets prices would be. They gave that type of information out back in '03, but it seems this whole process has just gotten worse in the past 5 years.

times are tough ten club. we need this information to PLAN.

not at the 10C. why would they be? they've doubled the annual membership and the number of members in the past 5 yrs or so.

they need to get of their high horses.

the band and the fanclub used to treat the fans like they were one and the same. theyve become detached. its unfortunate.

haha they are sick of us
This is the email I sent:

I was just wondering what the ticket prices were going to be? Either specifically for the MSG and Camden shows or a general range would be fine.

    Thanks!

This is the response I received:

Average ticket prices for today’s ticket market ...

    Thanks

Is it me, or does that border on rude? I don't understand why the ticket prices are such a secret. I understand that they were most likely overwhelmed with emails (actually - when are they ever not overwhelmed) but I imagine they know 2 days before the presale starts how much the tickets are going to be.

no one is saying its not a great value. i would've paid 1000 for a Vic ticket if I couldve gotten my hands on one. but youre missing the point. a lot of people have to plan every 5 dollars they spend. do you think when Ed was pumping gas in the 80's he went to shows without knowing how much a ticket was? no. theyve forgotten where they came from and in selling 20,000 tickets, theyve forgotten about those 2,000 fans that save and save to buy a ticket.

The 10C knew when they put the announcement out that they weren't going to include ticket prices, they full well knew they'd have a ton of emails about it and phone calls. All they said was:
The base ticket price will vary per show, plus additional venue and handling fees.

At least put on that, "we will get the exact information as soon as it is finalized." or something to reduce the amount of questions they will get.

Personally I don't really give a shit if the tickets are $50, $75 or $100 but it would be nice to know how much I'm going to be spending on Wednesday and Thursday, its really not a whole lot to ask. If they don't have it, then just tell us they don't. If they do and they don't want to tell us for whatever reason, then they deserve 1,000 questions.

good call. for a band of pearl jam's stature playing at a ticketbastard venue, 60 dollars for the best seats in the house is pretty damn good.

That was a pretty shitty answer to a very simple question. I would rather get no response at all than get a rude one like that.

What's wrong with the response? He asked for a "general range" and they said "average ticket prices for today's market". Would you have been happier if they responded with "We don't know"?

oh come on.. the guy was just curious how much tickets were....
Which would be fucking nice to know. Not all of us have credit cards... some people are having to work really hard and plan extensively to do shows. Knowing how much money you are gonna have to spend is pretty important ;)

i know when wahhhs are deserved... this isnt the time :P

Live nation says for mansfield that tickets for seating is $60, lawns are $40. I would expect 10 club tickets would be a bit more.

They give us seats that are otherwise unattainable, thats why people stick up for them.

It isn't the normal vendor-customer relationship!

It seems like the number of complaints about the ten club over that last couple of tours has increased significantly.....

.....for the people who like to admonish people for complaining, have you considered that the amount of gripes have increased because the ten club's level of customer service (for which they charge more for than in the past) has taken a nose dive?

i honestly wonder if the band has any inkling about how their fans are being treated.

i love pearl jam. i love their music. i love seeing them live. but, i've got to say that the ten club has tainted that experience for me.

the fact that they give us less than 4 days to plan which shows they can go to...and to figure out how to pay for them. i dont have a limitless credit card, as i am sure others dont. if you really think that they dont know exactly how much their fanclub tickets are, you are insane. they have to program the website for it. dont you think that is already done? in the past, we got ticket prices...as well as fair notice of tours....

if you think kissing the ten club's a$% makes you a better fan than those who demand a fan club that truly represents the band that they love, you are delusional.

The ticket cost question is valid. I think it is ridiculous how some blindly stick up for this band.
    Detroit ticket in 1998 $25.00
    Detroit ticket in 2000 $28.00
    Detroit ticket in 2003 $48.50
    Detroit ticket in 2006 $58.50

    Gas in 1998 $1.22
    Gas in 2000 $1.52
    Gas in 2003 $1.75
    Gas in 2006 $3.04

To me, the reason the ticket prices are high is due to the fact that they want to make substanially more money than they have in the past. As you can see from these numbers that the ticket prices do not corelate with gasoline prices. So the excuse of tickets being high due to gasoline or the cost of living is false.

If a ticket for the upcoming tour is $70, you have to ask yourself why is it $12 more than 2006, and the only answer i can think of is to make more money. I dont expect them to tour at a loss but i never expected them to tour for substantial personal gain.

Sadly i think Pearl Jam is more of a corporation now than a band & corporations are in the business of making money first and everything else second.

Just my 2 cents, flame away.

PJ message pit - the biggest bitchfest group of whiners around

you think you're entitled to any and every kind of product or info just because you paid the tiny $20 fan club fee. yes, the price for it is small, regardless of what $$$ you make a year. you've had a good idea for a while that pj would announce some dates this summer. you should already know about what to expect in regards to ticket prices. if you don't, READ and you will find it. if people say $50-75 per ticket, then overcompensate for $90 per ticket just in case! if you can't do that, well then figure something out! you ever think to realize the amount of stress the people who work for 10C are under right now too? you're not alone, sorry. the world doesn't revolve around you. their reply may not have been the most tactful, but it's not fair for you to expect info that they didn't already disclose with the other 10C members. not to mention making a thread about it revealing what they said! this isn't about kissin 10C's ass, it's about the rediculous level to which people feel entitled around here. you wanted a tour, they gave you one! now you want something else to bitch about?! go outside or something.
