And I actually have a damn good #, but I'm pumped to see some new faces up front!

If it doesn't happen I'll find a way to get them up there..with my tickets.

Don't PM... I'm talkin newbies and others who don't waste time here like me! ;)

Got a nephew Front Row in Minneapolis @ TP and PJ in '06 and I took 24th...so awesome to watch the look on his face.

Great memories.

I've only taken people who will love it to first and second row seats.... it is extra special for me knowing someone else is loving it as much as i am;)
  • I miss seniority + getting to the venue 8 hours before a show to get the first few rows.

I miss the fun of talking to fans, playing football, and bbqing in line.

I always took someone that would love seeing the show from the fan seat perspective. It was awesome in 2003 sitting row 2 or 3 a few times after driving all night to see the band. In 2006 it was weird driving across the country and getting 50th row. Then driving again and getting the same.

It may be greedy to say "i wanna be close", but I think that if you put your heart into it for 7 shows a tour and drive 4000 miles to see them, you should be able to be closer than 50th row.

I have seen pj 17 times and have been in row 2 once, row 5 or 6 a couple of times. Each time I was close I waited in line for 10 or 12 hours when we did block seating. It was so much fun to wait in line and hang out with everyone. I truly miss the bbq's and hanging with the people that go to multiple shows and trading storys and playing guitar with them.

It feels like a past time

The closest I've been was row 20. I am usually on the sides. (10c #206xxx) being on the floor was a whole new experience. During the show, I walked up to about row 5 to take a few pictures - my eyes were as big as my open mouth. To see them that close was amazing, and the crowd was incredible!

Just once would i like to experience that.

Being close is amazing, and to those people who bring other people up front with them at seniority shows deserve the utmost respect and kudos for it. I've only been close at GA shows irving lolla and the vic, 2 of which were truly an amazing experience :)

And to the block seating comment, I whole heartedly agree, my first show was block seating and it was the closest ive ever had with senority seats, cuz i got there early. You get to see the hard core fans and hang out whith them when you have to wait in line :)
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

You just have to go to shows other than the Philly, NY, NJ, Boston area. I'm from 15 miles up the road and joined the same time as you did. If you want first row, go to Saskatoon, St. John's, Bologna, or Verona like I did. The travel experience will be well worth it. If you want first 10 rows, go most anywhere south of PA, inc. DC.

The volume of 10C members in the Northeast is incredible, and many travel to multiple shows, so to get closer, you must travel further. Again, many of my most memorable experiences have been the furthest trips (Seattle, Western Canada, Newfoundland, and Italy).

This was my plan for 2006 but work got in the way and they didn't tour to small places like in 2003, so I was forced to choose Philly.

If they ever do a full US tour again, my ass will be going to the smallest places on the schedule.

Seniority is not headed towards extinction.

The Ed solo shows constitute an special situation. Because the venues are small, Ten Club probably has a limited number of tickets for members.

Seniority will be back when Pearl Jam tours arenas and amphis.

Very refreshing to hear you say that. I never understood seniority seating, the idea that someone desreves the best seats every show because they are older than me. Oh, so sorry I did not sign up for the Ten club when I was 11!

it's not because they are older than you, it's because they have actively supported the band for a longer period of time. nothing personal.

and i've never understood the whole passage of time thing, the idea that people who were here before me got to do things that i didn't get to do. oh, so sorry my parents didn't have sex earlier!

That's what's wrong with most of the PJ fans I met at Lolla, that "better-than" attitude. Whose to say just because you've been a member of 10C longer that makes you a bigger fan.......

    I don't get it.......

I think all 10C tickets should be done in lottery fashion, allowing new fans just as old an equal oppurtunity to get the most awesome seating.

btw: I was 10th row Mike's side at Lolla, I just pushed and shoved my way up there, screw you "better-than" types......

  • The best seat ive had was Grand Rapids 06 show. I had 15 row floor. I hear that was just because ten club messed up the seniority for that show. I wish they would do that more often.

been in the club for over 10 years...never been closer than 20th row
    man, you're depressing me :(
having never been farther than 10 yards from the front barrier (and that was the 2 shows I didn't have 10c tickets for and Verona..everything else including festivals was front row), I'm dreading the shit seats I'll get in the US :(

I'd prefer 10 rows up on the side to 20 on the floor though.. being only 5'6"
  • I was talking about this the other day, and it got me thinking...

Personally, i think if you're front row for most of the shows you go to then you're missing out. Yes, its frickin' awesome to get front row and see the band that close. You feel a connection when one of the band members glances at you, as if you're the only one there. It's a great feeling.

But, i think it loses its special-'ness' if you strive to get the front row every single time. I've been lucky enough to get front row for Lisbon 1 2006, Milano 2006 and Copenhagen 2007. It was great, but the best experiences i had were at shows when i was further back. It's so much more intense and rockin' to be in the midst of a crowd with everyone around you jumping up and down with you. If you're against the front rail, it's not as easy to jump around because everyone behind you is squashing you.

I really really advise those who seem like they 'need' to be front row every single show, just for once to step back and just go to a show and see where you end up in the crowd. You'd be surprised how good it is.

As i've only been to shows in Europe, i noticed that most shows were dominated by the same contingent of people who got to the venue super early and they almost had a kind of 'monopoly' on the front row. Ed must think it's nice when he looks out and sees familiar faces, but i bet it'd rev his engine to see some new faces.

Grand Rapids '06 is the perfect example of how good it can be when there are new faces up front. The front was full of maniacs who had never seen the band that close and so they went nuts, and the band just loved it. Yet, there was absolute chaos on the forum with people ranting like crazed lunatics about how much 10c fucked up. It's a GOOD thing they fucked up that night.
