  • No atmosphere in Nissan Pavillion, it's just too big. The band couldn't read the crowd because they could barely see or hear them.

Slight sound problems a few times, it sounded like the drum was doubling, that messed up Save You and a couple others. Could see Jeff talking to someone off stage about it during the Ledbetter wrap up.

An early start and finish because of the curfew, but 2:30 on the dot of play. Again, this venue is a disaster to get in and out of (unless you dropped $ 30 like me to get out of the vip lot), but PJ had to book it because MCI had to be saved for the Caps, should they have advanced.

An interesting set, but a few clunkers mixed in. Insignificance isn't a bad song, but they have too many others that are better. The same can be said for Sonic Reducer. Seemed to be oddly light on Backspacer tunes. How bout Gonna See My Friend and Force of Nature instead of the 2 mentioned.

Thrilled to see Down and Faithfull, left wanting a few more Backspacers and Leash at the end. Problem was, it was a bigger crowd in a bigger city that didn't know nearly half of the songs that were played.

The crowd sucked... even during even-flow, fixer, etc... they just werent really there. It was maybe 1/3 of the volume of Indy... they did get better.

What was weird was after All Those Yesterday EV mentioned how they took notice that the crowd seemed to really get into it and asked if we wanted more 'weird' songs. Then they said they would really get some weird ones out after Black but never did... that would be my only disappointment - I really thought they were just going to pull some good stuff after he said that!

Just got back. . . Pretty solid show for my 26th. Great to hear Garden and Sonic Reducer! Hadn't heard those live since '94. It was a little odd mix of songs, but damn they sounded good. Not the most intense show, but still strong. I'll take a show like that any day.

Met Rob from PJ radio. He was cool. He had a recording device that I can only describe as coming out of the movie Ghostbusters.
  • Venue is huge and things just seemed kind of distant. While the crowd may have seemed a little out of it, it didn't stop me from having a blast. Never heard 'em play Down, All Those Yesterdays or Garden before. I've been listening to Atlanta '94 repeatedly of late and all I could think of is that I wanted to finally hear Garden live. So glad they rocked it. Also thoroughly enjoyed Brain of J, Blood, and Sonic Reducer. Probably my only show this tour and I was not at all disappointed. Goodnight.

First not amazing show I've been to. I blame the crowd. Sound was not the best either. But thanks to 10club. I had great seats. My number is terrible and had amazing seats. Good times:)

F'n fantastic setlist this evening. No real obscure rarities, but some awesome hits! Honestly, this may have been the most testosterone driven setlist I've seen of 2010. I was rocking it out w/ you know what out. Fantastic show. Great crowd. And fun energy this evening. Thanks to "Scott" for letting me jump/dance around in my spot w/out complaining. You're a solid dude. :D

Can't wait to listen to the boot!
  • A dump truck could dump a load of wet mushy cow shit on you before a pearl jam show and they could play an entire set of evenflow over and over and over..... and you'd still be witnessing the fucking greatest band on the planet.... and it will still be the best show you will see all year... period.

Lots of whiny prima donna's around here lately it seems.

Shocked people are saying this is a standard setlist. Would love to get Spin back circle, garden all those yesterdays and sonic reducer in Europe.
Now it all comes down to numbers, now I'm glad that I have quit

I love this band. This was my 14th show. There is always a tendency to overvalue what is most recent, but this was probably in my top five. Seats were row Q on Mike's side - similar to previous years in DC with my 172xxx # (thanks 10C) - and the crowd around me was great, although there were definitely some empty seats. One of the many reason why the band's shows are wonderful are the people you meet, which for tonight was a group from NY and a big guy wearing a Troegs shirt who was holding up an orange "Mike is God" shirt and claimed to have gotten on the stage for one of last year's Philly shows.

Best moment of the night for me was All Those Yesterdays. On the drive to the terrible venue, my friend and I were talking about what we most wanted to see. It was #1 on my list, so I was on cloud nine when they went into it. Also really liked Down, which was another first for me, and Brain of J, Faithful, Garden, Present Tense, and Blood. Anyone who says it was just a greatest hits show isn't bothering to read the setlist. I thought the opener - Small Town - was an interesting/odd choice, but it seemed to get the crowd (at least around me) into it from the get go. I normally am not the president of Better Man's fan club, but tonight's version was good. Ed's banter was nice, particularly the revised comment about lobbyists (I work on the hill and really appreciated it), Haiti, and the fact that he was at the 9:30 Club, which is right across the street from where I live, the night before. Another highlight was that it wasn't overly heavy on Backspacer, but included pretty much everything I really like off of it other than Force of Nature - Unthought Known, The End, and the other three they seem to play every night.

Out of all the DC shows I have been to: 03, 04, 06, and 08, I think this may have been my favorite. Also, Band of Horses was fan-freaking-tastic. Funeral is one of the best songs of the last decade. And props to the guy in the "SCOTCHNSODA" jersey and the guy in the VFC Patriot shirt who were a few rows ahead of me - you rocked out the whole night.

Good show... a lot of my favorites in the set, lots of Yield.

I will say though that plunking down that $30 for the VIP parking was a great decision- I was out of the lot in less than 5 minutes, compared with the 2+ hours I've waited in the past.

I was right behind you guys... the guy with the orange shirt was to our right for a good chunk of the show.. unfortunately he kept borderline groping my friend and left his piss with us when he left claiming that he was going to get on stage again. Other than that, crowd was good, very pumped and into the songs. We did notice a lot of NY'ers there... lots of Mets hats in that crowd.
  • This was my 19th show and was easily top five. How anyone thinks that setlist is generic and full of hits is beyond me, as I've seen my share of those types of shows. Anyway, the venue was a breeze to get in and out of and I may write a more detailed entry at some point, but right now it's time for me to lay my head down... tonight.

Driving to and from the venue was a breeze. Getting in and out of the parking lot was a breeze. My co-worker and I met a Beth and Brian from the Baltimore/Columbia area in a Thursdays restaurant a few miles outside of the venue. Bob and Mike were in the row behind us, and they were from the Baltimore area as well.

3rd row from the stage right in front of Eddie. Excellent seats. Great weather, so I didn't get too tired too quickly. Nice mix of songs. Once they played Given to Fly my concert was complete. Everything else is icing on the cake. I must write, though, that I was really inspired to write poetry when I heard Garden. There's something about that song I just never picked up on before, and I really appreciate any inspiration that results in my putting pen to paper. I haven't yet, :D , but I plan to. I also plan on finishing that color-coded concert project . . . but I digress. The End was beautiful. There seemed to be a timing issue during Breathe, and the song after it, but overall, the movement and flow of the concert was like clockwork.

A Jeff Ament pick bounced off my co-worker, and she gave it to me. That was awesome! It was her first PJ concert. Very enjoyable, I'm keeping the ticket to this one for good luck.

Mixed reviews.......who doesn't like to hear the hits to sing as loud as you can along with the band????? Everyone has their own faves that they want to hear and the thing is you can't please all the people all the time. With that said thanks boys for opening up with release in Indy!!!! That pleased me greatly!!!

I thought it was a pretty great setlist. Sadly, I was in the ladies room when they sang Faithfull. Present Tense was a real treat :) I was sitting near people who were singing and dancing, they were really into it. I hope my bad dancing was not too bad! My ears are still ringing and I wore ear plugs the whole time.

I hope my pictures turn out from my disposable camera. I guess we were about 20 rows back, Mike's side.
I ran up to the front, Stone's side near the end of the concert when Ed came over to the edge. I hope the pics over there turn out ok. One man accidentally hit me, but he was very apologetic about it. I stood on my chair sometimes when our guard had her back turned and I took some pics.

Now to find a place that still develops film. Surely not going to Walmart. They used to do a good job. Maybe cvs?

A young guy was sitting with maybe his dad and I think he made fun of the 4 ppl in front of them wearing ear plugs. He'll learn.

I met the nice man with the username that starts with CJ and he has a David Hasselhoff avatar :)

I was pleased with the setlist. But I was too far back for good pics. I took pics of the screen sometimes.

p.s. I was disappointed, no Of the Girl opener. Also, I do have 2 digital cameras but did not want to get them wet. I took an old purse and while we were eating, it ended up on the ground. I didn't even know it and it was completely wet. Yeah concerts are not a place for good things. Especially now that I know that where I sat my old purse under my chair, could of had human feces under it. What is wrong with people?

  • It's 6:45 a.m. and there are probably still people trying to get out of the parking lot.

After the '03 show, I told my wife that the only band I'd ever see at that godforsaken venue was Pearl Jam. It's an absolute bitch to get to during rush hour in D.C. and getting out is a motorized version of the Bataan Death March.

Venue aside, I really, really enjoyed the show. 11 rows back on Mike's side (thank you so much, 10C!) and absolutely rocked it all night long. While the set list wasn't Philly 3, it made for a very entertaining show and really, that's all that matters. Loved finally hearing Brain of J, Faithful, Insignificance, and All Those Yesterdays live - I thought Insignificance sounded f'in FANTASTIC live.

Man, I had such a great time - thanks to the band and crew!

Sounds like this show blew Buffalo out of the water. Buffalo was average at best. This must have been a great show. Outside too I think.........

Actually, it didn't. I was at both and I thought Buffalo was better. This venue sucks and the crowd in Buffalo was way better. Hopefully that makes you feel better.

The lot was pie. Got there at 3:45 only to be told to come back in 10 minutes.
Stayed a few minutes after the show and was out on 66 in a flash. No trouble at all.
Another 172xxx row Q mikes side.
A Thanks to the two girls who picked up my bag when it slid off my seat.
I liked it, Down and Present Tense!
Crowd was ok. I'm a rocker at PJ shows, I just can't help it.
Also introduced myself to the Hoff...haha, he's just great.
The poster is super sweet. Love it.
Also thanks to the two guys in front of me with their cameras out the whole show. I mean I can see a few pictures and a quick vid, but the whole show? Enjoy your videos ass*oles.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

Jiffy Lube Live is an outdoor arena??? Thought INDY / NO were only outdoor shows this year.

Poop under a seat is OK if its outdoors right?

I thought it was a great show...good/interesting setlist. My area was really rocking but looked like some of the crowd was not as into it. It seemed Eddie was trying to get the crowd into it with some success, especially during the encores. I also had great seats, section 101, and had no problems getting in or out of the venue.

Sound where I was was great except during Save You, I didn't even recognize the song, everything else was great.

Aside from the on-again, off-again vibe of the crowd...another awesome show!

When I thought I'd seen it all ... Ed tagged U2's "Bad" at the end of Black... "isolation..desolation...condemnation..." We all know Black is great but that took it to a whole new level for me. Thank you Ed.

    This!

Out of the 14 shows I'm doing this year, the one in my "home town" (if you want to consider Bristow as DC) was the most difficult to get to and get out of.
