the lost symbol by dan brown.
it's pretty good. very fast paced.Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
Butthead: Huh huh.0 -

Another Stephen King fan?! Nice. I know some people didn't like 'needful things' but I liked it...of course I really liked 'insomnia' and I have friends that are King fans that thought it was boring. To each their own. I always enjoy re-reading them. Although I still have to finish 'the dome' :oops:0 -

yeah, i'm a fan. since christmas, i've read:
just after sunset
the shining
desperation (re-read)
the regulators (re-read)
misery (re-read)
i've got 'under the dome' but i'm not going to read it. waiting for the paperback to come out. i don't like reading my hardcovers, i'd much rather keep them on the shelf. plus, it's kind of a bitch carrying around king novels that aren't paperbacks. makes me feel like i'm in high school again, lugging around text books.
i used to have just about everything of his in paperback, but over the years i've lost just about all of them (plus a lot of first print hardcovers). since 'from a buick 8' came out in paperback, i've been buying a lot of his stuff in paperback again. got quite a collection going. i went to a book fair last winter and was astounded to see all the king paperbacks they had. i bought all but 3 and paid 25 cents per book. oh shit, that reminds me. i was bidding on an auction on ebay that ended while i was at work...i gotta check to see if i won.yep, won it. he's got 29 paperbacks and i get to pick the 10 that i want. here's what he's got listed:
SALEM'S LOT 1976
THE SHINING 1978
NIGHT SHIFT 1979
THE DEAD ZONE 1980

gotta figure out which ones i want.
oh, you said you loved insomnia......i read that one.....years ago. wasn't really a fan of it, but i think i'll give it another shot. not exactly a typical king novel, from what i can remember. personally, the one king novel i didn't really care for was 'cell'. i loved how it started, he got right to it immediately, but it fizzled fast for me.9/1/00, 9/2/00, 9/3/00, 12/31/00, 3/2/01, 4/29/01, 6/21/01, 7/25/01, 8/31/01, 9/1/01, 9/2/01, 4/18/02, 8/30/02, 8/31/02, 8/31/02, 9/1/02, 9/22/02, 3/22/03, 5/6/03, 6/29/03, 8/29/03, 8/30/03, 8/30/03, 8/31/03, 2/21/04, 4/2/04, 4/3/04, 9/3/04, 9/4/04, 9/4/04, 9/5/04, 2/19/05, 7/22/05, 9/2/05, 9/3/05, 9/3/05, 9/4/05, 1/22/06, 6/7/06, 9/1/06, 9/2/06, 9/2/06, 9/3/06, 7/6/07, 8/31/07, 9/1/07, 9/1/07, 9/2/07, 3/7/08, 8/29/08, 8/30/08, 8/30/08, 8/31/08, 7/11/09, 6/4/10, 6/11/110 -
Just after Sunset was good and I remember loving The Regulators but haven't read it in a while. Sadly most of my King books are packed away back East :(
Yeah I liked Insomnia and have probably read it three times. Oh you should get Cycle of the Werewolf. I also liked Gerald's Game (although scary because it felt like that could really happen) and I liked how it connected with Dolores Claiborne. Dreamcatcher was a DUD...the first three hundred pages were brilliant...and then veered off into "wtf?" for me.
I have read and re-read 'it' and 'different seasons' I don't know how many times.0
