    no one cares about the eagles in this thread. I'm from philly, I love the eagles, but I don't care.

    it's the playoffs...I will worry about the eagles in november when baseball is over. until then, give me phillies and pearl jam.

    cliff lee was awesome tonight. once again, the crowd was horrendous. not sure what is happening in philly. hopefully tomorrow night is better

    i thought the crowd was fine last night - i wouldn't call it horrendous - come on it wasn't Dodger stadium - and the 'you took steroids' chat was pretty loud.

    of course nobody settles for just a winning season. but an even somewhat intelligent person can also tell you that winning 86 games or so on average for the years you mentioned does not mean you sucked either. :roll:

    not sure why you went back to 99, when i was going back to 2001 in my post. but since 01, we certainly have not sucked. for the record, the mets didnt suck in 07 and 08 either. well, they did in september, but you get what i am saying.

    And it was awesome. Yes, you could hear it through the TV, and it looked like it miffed Manny.

    Oh, and hey, Metsfan - couple of things.... Those season from '99-09, 8 of those 11 seasons the Mets finished BEHIND the Phils. Oh, and here's the biggest stat in there as well -

    '99-'09 Phils World Championships - 1(with a possible 2nd TBA)
    '99-'09 Mets World Series Championshhips - ZERO
