Good luck with that. You should be more worried about the Angels and your capital C captian riding the pine or the merry go round that will take place if he catches.
If Francona manages with his brain and not his heart, V-tek will sit this series and Vmart will be in full time. I have to admit, now that Vmart is here I like our chances a LOT better vs. the Angels. You have to remember, the Angels had Tex, Torri, Anderson and even K-Rod last year and we handled them. In my opinion, the Angels aren't as good this year although Abreau has been a surprise and Morales is playing out of his mind. Why Ervin Santana isn't playing is beyond me.0 -

Agreed the Varitek should not be playing, it's not like he brings anything to the table offensively either. Enough Boston talk though.....
LETS GO YANK-EES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -

For sure. I read earlier 25-50 mph winds. Don't really need this to play a factor in a game but I would think it would favor the Yanks slightly. They have dealt with the stadium all year and have much much more power in their lineup than the Twins.0 -

But will it effect C.C.'s pitching?
And what's brewing between Jorge and A.J? Will Molina hurt the Yankees lineup in Game 2?

I dont know how much it will effect CC's pitching. I would tend to think it would hurt the Twins rookie a bit more. If he can't locate he is going to be in trouble.
I don't think anything is brewing between Jorge and AJ, I think there have been problems all year. They have a lot of trouble getting on the same page and don't communicate effectively at all. Not having Jorge's bat in the lineup definitely won't help but I would tend to think that getting a good start from AJ is the most important aspect of game 2.

only one of those pictures above has world series champions in it thought.

good luck to the yanks. CC should have an easy time today pitching against a bunch of guys coming of yesterday's win.
of course, right after I type this, the twins put up 2 on CC.
WTF is up with Posada? did he bet on the Twins? awful passed balls, then, half hearted walk to get one of them to allow a run to score.Post edited by jimed14 on"You're one of the few Red Sox fans I don't mind." - Newch91

It's not like Martinez is throwing anyone out either. At least he hits though. Anaheim will be running the whole series. i expect 5 steals per game0 -

Other than a couple episodes of Posada being lazy, great game by all.If a man speaks in a forest and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?0

Is CC considered an 'athlete?' Great pitcher, but a grossly obese human being wobbling around the mound as he has that look of wanting to devour his own glove..and yet he is performing at the highest possible level as defined by baseball pitching standards..

If you're into minutia or whatever, here are some notes:
-Today (October 7) was actually the second anniversary of the Yankees last postseason victory.
-The Yankees are 7-2 against the Twins in the postseason. The only losses were series openers in games started by Johan Santana.
-CC Sabathia snapped a three-game postseason losing streak and did not walk anyone for the first time in six playoff starts.
-Derek Jeter hit his first postseason homer since Game 1 against Detroit in 2006. The home run was his 20th extra-base hit, tying Manny Ramirez for second place all time in division series play.
-Alex Rodriguez snapped a 0-for-18 postseason streak with runners in scoring position and two outs. If you were watching closely, you noticed he was retired on curveballs in his first two at-bats.
-Hideki Matsui hit his seventh postseason home run. While he had 13 home runs in 131 regular-season at-bats off lefties this year, it was just his fourth in 45 career postseason at-bats off lefties.
- In three career playoff appearances, Phil Hughes is 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA.Reading 2004
