The only thing is his reputation of not wanting to go to the pitcher's meetings. And Posada might not be able to catch for very long. John Flaherty said he had the same surgery and it took him a couple of years to get back to where he was. And Posada's 36 or 37.

that long? what i've been hearing is posada will need 7 months. that's a full month before spring training, so he'd actually get 8. but if it's a couple years.....yikes.

  • any chance farnsworth made it to Cleveland yet? they're in the 13th, and kenny Rogers is warming up for the save

they say 6 months or so to get back on the field, but a good year to get back to 100%

ahh, ok. here's to hoping he's a quick healer.

Yea he'll be ready for spring training next year. But he's getting up there in age. He might be doing more Dh'ing next year. But who knows these days. He might bounce back without problems.

Any chance Posada goes to 1B next season and Pudge stays to catch?
Hey, you wouldn't hire a clown to fix a leak in the jon so why do you let these hooligans tear down the biz? YEEAAHHH. I don't care if he is Mr. Notorious BIG, can he croon?

posada looked pretty soft at first base (even though i think he's only played a total of 10 games there). give him a full spring training at the position, and maybe....

that's a typical transition for aging catchers.

  • Britton is back up, likely just holding a spot until Bruney is ready. What happened to my guy Albaladejo? Was his injury a season ender?

Moeller DFA'd. He'll likely end up in Columbus

Alberto Gonzalez from the Yankees to the Nationals for RHP Johnny Nunez, a big (6'3 185) young (22) pitcher

yeah cuz its so much fun bein' on a 3rd place team ;)
  • Manny to the Dodgers. Jason bay, who was one of baseballs top young players a few years ago before a disappointing 2007 (when he was on my fantasy team) to Boston.

Long term, I think its a good move for Boston. I can see Bay flourishing in Boston a lot like Lowell. And he is still young and less of a distraction than Manny. All that said, when the Yanks are playing the Sox, I'll feel better with Bay at the plate than Manny. Manny has been nothing but clutch his whole career and I've never been happy to see him come to bat whether it was with Cleveland or Boston.

Nice to see we picked up a couple of prospects for Hawkins and Gonzalez.

After reading comments and listening to Cashman's press conference on the I-Rod deal, it seems pretty clear that Farnsworth was very well liked.

Pudge shoud do ok for us in the playoffs esp. Im happy with that move and getting rid of that scrub Farnsworth. We still need a top notch starter tho.

Bay like BRI said is gonna prolly be awesome in Boston. Big difference in attitudes and in the locker room

and the Dodgers with Manny?? who knows how thats gonna work with Torre. Joe's been pretty good over the yrs with the outcasts and bringing the best out of them like Sierra, Darryl, etc...

1 gm behind the Sox, 3 behind 1st..lets GOOOO YANKEES!!!!

He'll probably give Andruw Jones protection.

we're 4 back as of today, and this score thus far is not helping the matter!

Edit: Gosh darnit. I do not like the angels. Plus they have Torii Hunter now? Geesh!
