(Also, not all triathlons are endurace races. There are lots of sprint tri's that are of varying lengths).
yeah I did a sprint-it was really short, I think I finished in 55 minutes or something.0 -

I had an insane workout yesterday.
I biked 20 mins immediately after my (rather punishing) continually out of breath leg workout (15 sets) where you can't walk so well after. I got on the bike immadiately after my last set for my cardio session, and I averaged a heartrate of 167bps...peaking at 175bps during intervals.... 92-95% of my max heart rate sustained... mouth closed only breathing through my nose, and only needing to breathe through my mouth during uphill sprints.

I'm back after my Grade III sprain three weeks ago. At least I think I am. I ran on the track last Friday for about 30". Then on the track again on Sunday for 35", Tuesday on the tread mill -even did some speed work, AND I ran today on my usual running route (well, at least partially, part of it is now covered by the Ohio River)..... I ran 40" and the ankle felt good!!!!The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. Ghandi0

I had the funniest little workout today.
My friend Portia was sitting on the bicycle, all having a leisurely workout when I walked in. I just sat on the bike next to her and did 45 min.
We laughed and talked the whole time.
Don't worry, there were hardly any people there.
It was awesome.Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away0 -
I had good ones all week...and the last several weeks really.
I've added pullups to the routine. They are incredible and I'm seeing changes after only two weeks.

Sorry Fanch! I actually haven't been able to get over to my workout area over the last 2-3 weeks, which blows I know. I should be ready to go next week when things slow down at work (I typically go at lunch).
Keep it going until I get back on track!!!!!!!I love to turn you on0 -

No wonder they are so much easier. I can't do pullups.
That was an interesting article.

I knew they weren't as good (b/c as you say, they are far easier), but I thought pulldowns were good enough. Then I saw that scene in "I Am Legend" where Will Smith is doing those pullups, and I noticed how much muscles were ripping when he did them. So, I did some research and it turns out you can only develop so much without doing pullups. So I've added them and in two weeks I've seen a marked change in my back. Pullups are good stuff.
Here's an article on pullups for women. Women struggle with pullups more then men (this isn't sexist, it's just true) but there are ways for women to build up to them.
