    28 miles? Yikes.

Lifted today (as per usual MWF). On pull-ups (palms forward) I got 7, 5, & 5. First time EVER doing more than five in a set. Yeah!

Sort of like a virtual personal trainer? That sounds great. I have my husband for that -- he drags me out of bed each morning and even trains with me. It annoys me that in half the time he is more ready to run this half-marathon than I am, but I guess that sense of irritation is motivating. :-)

I suck at text messaging, so I can send you "get up and get moving!" thoughts, instead.

    Yesterday: rest day

Today: 5 mile run, 300 situps/crunches, lots of stretching

My new routine, keeping it simple.. 1 minute rest between sets and slow reps, concentrating on form..

    3 sets of 20 push-ups

    3 sets of 20 sit-ups

    3 sets of 20 squats

3 sets of 20 jumping jacks

    Stretch

    10 to 12 minute run

40 minutes total, 3 to 6 days a week depending on schedule.

Not too intense, but keeps the blood flowing, me feeling alive and looking tone.

Today I decided to try to break away from my love affair with the elliptical machine. Always gives me a great workout but I need to do something different! I decided to run/walk for 45 minutes. Had a plan to walk for 2, run for 5, walk for 2, run for 5. But I had never used that treadmill before and chose the hill option. I didn't realize that the speed would just randomly double! I nearly fell off. So after I adjusted that I had an awesome workout!

Here is what I did today:
    60 minutes walking
    10 minutes warm-up on elliptical
    45 minute spin cycle class
45 minutes run/walk on the treadmill (see above--my first time running in about two years--it was SOOO hard but now I want to challenge myself and do more running next time. I'm just proud of myself that I finished really strong :) )
30 minutes strength training with weights

:D I know how you feel! I was really sick for about 3 weeks and couldn't work out. Last week I did a few light workouts and this week I am back in full force. Feels great, doesn't it? :)

That'll keep the heart going - good work.

Im a big fan or short and consistent breaks. Good conditioning for the mind

I'm in better shape now than I was when I used to spend 2 hours a day everyday in college working out. Overdoing it will make you weaker I've learned.

I also don't get sick as often too.. the body needs time to repair!

I was the fittest I have ever been the last two months. Training with, keeping up with and even beating the odd trainer (who does it as their profession). That damn bug took it nearly all away - seems a sorta waste.

I reckon it should only take 5-6 sessions to get back there I hope.

Today I ramped it up a fair bit and besides one or two 20 sec couging fits I got thru. 50% slower than I have done but yes I feel great again. Was only 10 days but I missed it.

Great to hear you are back at it and feeling good. Good for you!!!!!!

27.5kg dumbell bent over rows. 10 each arm x 4 sets.

    Deadlifts 12 x 8 sets - started 40kg then raise 5kg per set. 2 min breaks.

6 x 30 sec incline core hold with 30 sec breaks.
