Been getting a little bored so thought Id do something strange yesterday

    50 lunges
    25 squat/press (20kg bar)
    25 sit ups.
    25 box jumps
15 burpies (I hate these pricks)
    25 chins
    25 puashups
    1km run

    5min break

Do it all again in reverse. (not including the 1km run)

Took me just under and hour. The push ups and sit ups were the only time I could get breath back to anything reasonable.

Mate how do you measure your body fat? Are you just doing it with height/weight calculations or the proper pinch test thingy??

And what is the h2o - its that water retention or something?

bf is measured with BIA(bioelectrical impedance analysis). this requires a low level electrical signal that passes through muscle and fat. i had my doubts at first that it would be accurate, so i checked it with my caliper and the results were the same.
as for the h2o, it is measured in the same manner, using BIA. there is an inverse relationship between water% and fat%. i have been recording the data post exercise for over a year now and the results are interesting.
the higher the water% the lower the fat% and the inverse is true. the range that my height/weight/h2o/fat usually gives is anywhere from:

    5% bf - 64% h2o
10% br - 57% h2o this data informs me to stay hydrated.

a normal water percentage is 50-65% of body weight.

if you are interested in the scale i use just send me a pm and i will provide the information. it is a good piece of equipment to have, if you like to chart progress and measure growth or stability.

I did over 33 miles on the road bike yesterday with one killer hill included. Today I eked out 2.75 miles running before the tendonitis in the ankle kicked in big time. I've had one pt session on Friday and will go back this week again. I also did some strengthening.

    Pull-ups are the shit.

Any dude at the gym who looks "fit," not just your meatheads that can squat & bench 600 pounds, those dudes do pull-ups and lots of them. I hated them & avoided them for years because they were so hard and straining...there is a reason they are so!

When I saw Will Smith in "I Am Legend" I was like yeah, I gotta start doing pullups. My goal is to get to 3 sets of 10.

Hey Fanch, you should get this:

And also get the broad reach attachment with it. Make sure it'll fit in one of your doors via specifications..I love this thing..

Well, I already do pullups at the gym. Do you go to the gym and do some extra pullups at home, or is this device part of your main routine? I've heard of people having a pullup bar at home, and they'd jump up and do a set each time they walked by it. That's a prison type of workout, there! The kind that gets you ripped up.

I haven't been to the gym since I got married (June 7th, one week after yours I think)..I got sick of paying the membership fee and having to wait for steroid pumping meatheads to finish their cable chest flies underneath the pull up bar...

I'm just looking to maintain now so I hit the pull-ups heavy three times per week..but also do a few sets not to failure every day because it's there..lol...I run/jump rope two or three days per week..and do push-ups, and have a few free weights for the occasional shoulder raises/presses etc..Anyway, just wanted to point this product out because I have had door pull-up equipment before that was total shit, but this is fucking awesome!!

ha, I took about a month off, but I'm back full-force now. There is a gym less than a mile from where I work, so I hit it at lunch time (and just quickly eat my packed lunch as I work when I get back) so that I can go consistantly MWF and it doesn't affect my personal time at all.

That is a cool-looking device. I'll look into it.

I used to work out with an old-school lifter. He's strong, in shape, doesn't believe in any of that fad shit or supplements stuff. Anyway, he said anyone who is "in-shape" should be able to do 50 pushups in a row and 3 sets of 10 pull-ups (palms-forward).

I use the perfect pushup thing. There really is not much to it. It rotates and it allows you to go a little deeper than a conventional push-up..I like it...picked it up at bed bath and beyond for under 20 bucks..
