Sprained and bruised right ankle. Look for him to DH for the weekend. But I'd also DH him most of the series in Toronto on the turf.
good points
his numbers are really something, what is it 47 HR's and 137 RBI's now?"...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."

48, which is what he had two years ago. i'd guess that he ends up with 52 or 53 home runs for the season.Reading 2004

well if he doesn't want to come back or the money isn't good enough, i'd take mike lowell.Reading 2004

xavier mcdaniel wrote:I'm pretty sure that this is the first game I've seen in person that saw a player homer twice in the same inning. It was kind of funny that Rodriguez's first home run came less than a minute after the results of his MRI were announced.
Rodriguez is the first Yankee to hit two home runs in an inning since Cliff Johnson on June 30, 1977 in Toronto.
The game also marked just the second time since 1941 that the Yankees had 10 or more runs with seven or fewer hits. The other instance was April 7 vs. Baltimore.
Another interesting nugget is Jose Molina. Each of his last two starts have been with a young pitcher. He caught Kennedy Saturday and caught Hughes' best start since coming off the disabled list.
I thought his start in Cleveland was pretty good.I miss igotid880 -

why him?
#'s are comparable to A-Rod's but why else? Is his defense better? btw how far back did you read in this thread?"...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."

he's a good hitter. every time i look up he seems to have a 10-game hitting streak going and he is a solid glove.
oh and IgotID88, I forgot about that start in Cleveland. This would be his second-best start since coming back.Reading 2004

I doubt he'd do the same thing he's doing in Boston. He's a good hitter so if he's what we can get then I'll go for it. Hopefully Cashman is saying he won't renegotiate to catch everyone off guard.I miss igotid880 -

I think that's what he's doing. He doesn't want anyone leaking anything to the papers, so he's doing that.Reading 2004

we'll see
if A-Rod keeps all this up though and has a hot playoffs... they'll want to keep him though, if they can, right? Unless he gets more $ somewhere else but who would have more money than the Yanks?"...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."

The Red Sox might have comparable money and you always hear how the Angels are interested. The Giants also could be a possibility especially since Bonds is unlikely to return. But I think he's coming back to NY.Reading 2004

I'm guessing that they will rework his contract so that texas is still paying part of the contract and pay him 30 mil a year. maybe add 4 more years. They're gonna need him at the new stadium. If i'm not mistaken aren't they going to move the foul poles closer?I miss igotid880 -

I hadn't heard that about the foul poles. I know the stadium's exterior is starting to be visible and have read many of the area residents in that part of the Bronx are less than thrilled with the project for all the noise the construction generates.Reading 2004

I don't know
I think it all depends on who offers the most money and how he does in the playoffs
but with all this 'love' and the MVP chants he's getting now, he probably wants to stay in NY."...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."
