It's popcorn that's slightly sweet/slightly salty and it's YUM. I just thought of it cause I'm enjoying some right now :)

And I use the term cuisine lightly! :p

Ok so I've got the opportunity to try stuff that's unique to the US and Canada while I'm there, so figured I should get a list of suggestions. :D

So yeah, anything you can think of, snacks, home style cooking, drinks, restaurants all that jazz. :D

Tell me your favorites please. :)
If you're in Seattle at all, one of the specialties is cedar-smoked salmon. Just delicious!

    :D Well I'm not sure.

There was a popcorn shop at one of the shopping centres a while back that had all different flavours of popcorn, I'm sure they had something like that, but I'm struggling to find the name of the shop now.

And we have lollygobbleblissbombs but those are mostly sweet, although they were a little salty when I was a kid but I think they're changed the recipe since then. :(
    NOPE!!!

I would eat that just for the name! :D

Why have I never heard of them before?!?!?! Tim has been holding out on me

    :D Yeah, they're pretty yummy!!

Caramel coated popcorn with nuts. :) I've had some recently, you can get them in the snack food aisle at the supermarket, but they were much nicer back in the day. There's not as much nuts in them now and the pieces aren't as big, and I think they've taken out a lot of the salt.

I'm trying to find you a link Elana, but they seem a little elusive!
Maybe Tim didn't grow up with them so he might not know of their existence. They were big in the 70s and early 80s but they're still around, just not as good.
    NOPE!!!

Are they like cracker jacks? They came in a box with a prize...I liked the rub off tattoos the best :o

He's in for a full line of questioning tonight! :p Thanks Jeanie

    Hmmm....don't know cracker jacks.

Here's a pic of Dave O'Neill surrounded by them but it doesn't really do them justice. As a kid growing up, the blissbombs where all clustered together. You could reach into the bag and pull out a HUGE big cluster of popcorn and nuts all glued together with toffee/caramel and you'd have a hard time eating a piece in one go because it would be too big for your mouth. :D Now days it seems that it's just popcorn covered in caramel. No big "BOMBS". :(

But yeah, grill him on them, although he might not know them. If they don't have them in SA I can send some across to him next time I go to the supermarket. :) Just let me know. :)

:D Oh I'll be trying to poutine. I'm fascinated by it because I'd never heard of it before this thread, so I'll give it a go. Hopefully I can convince someone to share it with me so I can have a taste and see what I think, I'm just not convinced about squeaky cheese curds, but yeah, if I was game enough to try black pudding in Ireland, then poutine shouldn't be any trouble.

It doesn't squeak... it's really hard to explain! But sooo delicious! I'll be eating some the whole weekend of the Eddie shows in Montreal!

:D Yeah, I can't say it looks delicious but I'll give it a go. :)

I'm just wondering if the cheese curds are like haloumi? That has a "squeaky" like consistency.

Sounds similar, but I've never had halloumi, so I don't know... But yeah, cheese curds are salty, squeaky and are a byproduct of cheese production, so they're probably a lot a like. In poutine it's similar to cheese, but the texture and flavour is different. It doesn't usually squeak in poutine, it's all melty.... Good god I'm craving poutine now! lol

melty is good. :D melty is very good. :D and I like salty too, so yeah, perhaps it will be better than it looks? :D

I know I like chips and gravy. :)
