And I use the term cuisine lightly! :p

Ok so I've got the opportunity to try stuff that's unique to the US and Canada while I'm there, so figured I should get a list of suggestions. :D

So yeah, anything you can think of, snacks, home style cooking, drinks, restaurants all that jazz. :D

Tell me your favorites please. :)
NOPE!!!

You like deep friend food? :p

I would suggest oysters or mussels from PEI but where you will be that will be hard but I am sure they have good ones there :)

In Vancouver there are some great sushi restaurants... a friend suggested one but I never made it there... if interested I could find out.

For a maritime feel you could go to the Trap & Gill in Vancouver and have some east coast fare ;) LOL

I am not sure what makes up our cuisine but there are some good places to be sure...sadly I am more familiar with east coast places to go.
  • SEAFOOD!!!!!!!!!

    the greatest food ever.
I will be what i could be
Once I get out of this town

I would also say try fresh oysters. Best ever on the northwest coast! Also, salmon but preferably from Alaska. The greens/salads are also great here. Just try anything fresh/local and you can't go wrong. Most good restaurants here cook with local/fresh ingredients so I would definitely try what is on the menu. :) Can't wait to see you!

Chocolate covered blueberries :D The best... although they seem more elusive here than back east

Give me some time to think about it.. LOL

    SEAFOOD!!!!!!!!!

    the greatest food ever.

    :D Agreed!

But we can get it here, you know, world's largest island continent and all! :p

I was looking at the googles the other day, travelling along this road away from the motel I was thinking about staying at and I discovered this place called Weinershnitzel. Never heard of it before.

I meant stuff like that. Or smores. I remember there was a chocolate thread here once and some of the stuff, I'd never heard of. :)

What the hell is a "deep friend food"? I like to try that...;)

fried oysters are great! same with scallops! Cape Cod, MA got some sweet seafood restaurants out there!

I remember one time in Boston, we ordered some sweet lobsters and my friend said "what do we use to crack the lobster"? I told him, the little rock on our table. He thought I was an idiot or sometime but when we asked the waitress and she confirm it was the little rock.

    Mmm ... smores! A must for camping/cottaging.

    Beaver tails.

Poutine. Personally, I don't like poutine (I don't like gravy or curds), but it's a favourite amongst most Canadians.

Edit: Poutine is french fries with gravy and cheese curds.

Shrimp po' boys are battered, deep fried shrimp on a hoagie type roll with mayo, ketchup, pickles, lettuce, onions and tomatoes. Delicious! Cheese steaks are also sandwiches on rolls with thinly sliced, chopped steak, sauteed peppers, onions and melted, gooey cheese. You got it on the gravy fries!:)

Pretty much the steak + cheese sub at Subway, minus all the salad and the dressing
