ARod again kills the team late in the game. I know he already hit a big HR. I know you can't get a hit every time. But he just sucks when they need him the most. And where was Sexson for Betemit? I wanted Sexson for Giambi, so I was wrong on that one. But why the hell would you let Betemit hit there? If it's tied, you just move ARod to 3rd, and you lose the DH for the rest of the game. Worry about that when it happens

If Mariano doesn't give up that homer in the ninth we could be in extra innings. You kinda argued your own point with the A-Rod thing. You also for got he took advantage of Jones' not paying attention and scored an extra run. Cano is going into another slump now.

  • Ok, I won't jinx this one. But remember the guy who went on the DL due to cancer this season? he's pitching now, and you should check it out. His team is up 3-0 after 6

Both Pavano and Hughes had good outings today. I hope Hughes comes back before September.

even if the team releases him, they still have to pay. The Yankees will have to pay sexson about $180,000 for this year, while the Mariners will have to pay him about $7 million while he plays for the Yankees, and the Mariners have to pay him $15 mil next year too, no matter who he plays for

Anyone here from the Charleston area go to see the game?

My father and brother went and they said Reggie Jackson was in town and came to the game too. He is by far my fathers favorite player so he was pretty excited last night and glad that i told him to go check out Phil Hughes!

pudge rodriguez is heading to the bronx in exchange for farnsworth.
  • wow, that came out of nowhere. Seems like a good deal. Both are free agents after this year. I'm one of the few who liked Farnsworth, but there is a surplus in the bullpen now, especially if Bruney makes it back. My biggest concern is losing Molina as catcher. The starters loved throwing to him. Will Pudge seemlessly fit tight in? Who knows.

i too am one of the few that like farnsworth. he was lights out in july.

molina is a great catcher, but terrible bat (.220?). i wouldn't be suprised to see pudge DH in a few games, because you are right... our pitchers like throwing to molina.

I wonder if maybe they'll keep Moeller around. that way they could start Molina, and pinch hit for him late with someone like Sexson or Giambi, then put Pudge in, and still have Moeller on the bench.

thank you, lord, for answering my prayers of getting him out of pinstripes. as well as he's been pitching the past month, it doesn't make up for all the meatballs he's thrown before that. good riddance to farnsworth.
