  • a couple of telling paragraphs in that story. Didn't mean much then, but now, different story

The 122nd and final pitch thrown by Roger Clemens tonight was a 96 mile-an-hour fastball, and when Carl Everett swung and missed, Clemens glared briefly at the Red Sox center fielder before strolling toward the Yankees' dugout. Somebody should have rolled out a carpet in his path.

The Red Sox went 0 for 5 with runners in scoring position tonight; in Clemens's 15 starts since June 9, opposing hitters are 9 for 88 (.102) with runners in scoring position. ''He's been like a locomotive,'' said Joe Torre, the Yankees' manager. ''He's gotten stronger and stronger.''

clemens was 38 then. don't know many pitchers still throwing that hard that late in the game without any help. and boy carl everett, what a crazy guy he is. i still remember when he flipped out against that umpire when they played against the mets one year.

o yea i forgot to mention it's time warner also. this past month sucked.
I've had the same problems. I actually could not watch YES in HD the past feew days. It would freeze or just not work. I've had Time Warner for 1 month now and it has been a complete disaster to say the least. I've tried numerous times to switch providers but my building is only wired for shit TW.
    They are a disgrace.

I had a feeling Joba was gonna throw alot of pitches in the 1st inning. Don't tell me the Yankees can't score on a leadoff triple.

Thank you Matsui. Saw that stat the A-Rod doesn't have a homer against Halladay in 50 at bats.

so, who else thought that Blackburn was dead, or at best unconscious, when Abreu hit him? When his head flopped to the ground, and then both arms flopped also, I thought for sure it was lights out for him
I only saw the replay and he is very fortunate, it could have been so much worse. It looked so awful though. And poor bobby, I wanted to give him a hug. He was so shaken up.

soooooo..... what was the point of joba throwing only two innings?

thought they had him pitch 2 innings in relief for the past 3 weeks to gear him up to pitch LONGER as a starter.....????????

put him back in the pen.

He was limited to 65-75 pitches. They were hoping he would go 4 innings. But since he's a strikeout pitcher. He's gonna throw alot of pitches. And the Umpire was calling the close one's balls. Baby steps. He threw 64 today I think. Next start it'll be 75-80.

Supposably they only wanted him to throw about 70 pitches. If he didn't have such a rough first inning he probably would've went four or five.

when he walked the first batter. i knew it was gonna be a short outing. I hope Ramirez's outing doesn't make him lose confidence. I fell asleep. So I didn't see it. And of course my cable problems.
