It's like in ghostbusters 2 when they changed the evil slime into positive slime.
  • I saw a documentary a few months ago about a scientist who has focused his career entirely on water. I remember him making a point of saying science doesn't even actually understand what water really is...

Water is the most receptive of all elements.

Approx 60 percent of the human body is water, the brain is composed of 70 percent water, and the lungs are nearly 90 percent water. About 83 percent of our blood is water.

If would be safe to assume, from a purely physical perspective, we are a lot more receptive than we think we are...

Roland, I would not have expected you to make a mistake as basic as saying that water is an element. Water is a molecule.

WTF does "most receptive" mean ??

I was referring to water in the classical elemental sense http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_(classical_element))

receptive meaning it takes on aspects of it's environment willingly.

Ah, and yet we almost never take on the aspect of our environment, rather we change our environment to suit us. Those pesky thumbs and brains at work again.

Everything reacts to everything in the physical scientific world. In this case is may not be actually as represented but as for the "vibe" thing science hasn't come close to explaining anything. We don't even fully understand the human mind yet (let alone quantum), so how can you even begin to say that with conviction?

Jesus. If the fact the guys sells his 'magic water' isn't a big enough alarm bell for you I don't know what is. For a start, his 'experiments' are not well designed. You can't select just one ice crystal from thousands and call it representative of the whole population anymore than you can select one person from a whole town and call them representative. I'd like to see images of at least 100 crystals from each of his samples. Not one that has been selectively photographed because its look fits the mood desired by the 'researchers'.

I can't believe I'm even arguing about this.

Supposedly, it takes several hours of close quarters talking on a daily basis to produce the required amount of "oxygenation" needed to help a plant.

Given that there are probably very few if any people out there who have spent that much time talking to their plants while in close quarters, I think it's safe to rule out oxygenation as the cause.

Its got nothing to do with oxygenation and everything to do with CO2.

I haven't a clue if this is sarcasm or not... but if what you mean is that a lot of people are lacking significant comprehension on the full picture of all that is to be and exists in this universe than well ...yeah...

    About vibes

Magnets - there is a force around them that is visable when you put two repelling magnets together.
    ++ = Repel
    -- = Repel
    +- = Attract
It dosen't matter whether it is small or large. Everything has a magnetic field.
    Electron around an atom
Cations and anions in cells (think sodium and potassium in the heart cells)
The body has a magnetic field surrounding it (Physics 8.02 - MIT)
The earth has a magnetosphere that protects it from Solar radiation

    As above/So below

If I said to you "Hey Joe. We don't like your shirt, we've all talked about it and decided that it just dosen't look good on you so you shouldn't wear it again. Not trying to make you feel bad at all. Just thought you should know we all think it."

Then I have just done something to hurt your spirit. And you feel it on a physical level. There are many chemical reactions firing off simultaneously in your body, all changing the particular magnetic field that extends out from your body. Some people call it aura. When you get close to someone else, and you get a bad feeling and it causes physical changes in your own body, (butterflies in your stomache, sweat, anxiety...), imo that could be an etheric interaction with someone elses magnetic field.

Non-smokers who live with smokers are more likely to get cancer than smokers. Why is that? I often wondered because in essence, isn't the smoker exposed to just as much secondhand smoke as the non-smoker. Maybe the difference is that the non-smoker is getting the exposure PLUS focusing on the illness and potential loss that they cause it to manifest in themselves.

Laughter increases endorphins, which in turn speed the body's healing process. Science not myth.

Mysticism is more metaphysics based and transcends all religions. Staying centered as the chaos swirls around you. Self control. Controling you own surroundings.

    And back to water.

"When you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup.
When you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle,
When you put water into a teapot, it becomes the teapot.
Water can flow, or it can crash. Be water my friend." Bruce Lee

We choose whether we flow or crash through life all the time. But it is our choice.

I was talking to this doctor the other day at work who was saying that there are theories that an electron circulating around his heart cell could also be 20 feet away from him, and a smaller percentage that it could be at the moon and even a smaller percentage that that same electron could be on pluto. He was throwing out names of theories and formulas that were beyond my comprehension. But my point is that I don't know everything about everything so to discredit something because it hasn't been reproduced YET is ok. Given time we all may find out that he is a quack, or perhaps science will have an answer.

Maybe it was sound? EVERY substance resonates at a particular frequency. And that frequency is directly related to the objects mass. (Remember mythbusters breaking glass with the voice thing).

There is a video out there showing how sand vibrating at certain frequencies start to change shape and form intricate geometric patterns at certain frequencies.

I'm saying just because he (Emoto) hasn't shown the process, dosen't mean there isn't a process.

Keep a healthy amount of skepticism, but always an open mind to thoughts of others.

When I hear something new, I don't immediately like to discredit it until I have done my own research. Frequently I find later down the road an explaination that solves the past "mysteries of life" and it is like Ah ha!

There is always so much to learn before making a judgement on one persons opinion.

    Peace
I want to point out that people who seem to have no power, whether working people, people of color, or women -- once they organize and protest and create movements -- have a voice no government can suppress. Howard Zinn

    Awesome! :) Peace.

And even the naysayers in this thread are merely voicing a "belief" or "faith" in the supposed ludicrousness of this idea, considering you cannot prove a negative.

Actually, I watched the movie and then told my brother how awesome it was. He was skeptical and really didn't believe it. Instead of saying "You don't know anything" and crying about it. I did investigate it. I found out it was complete bullshit.

No one has told you 'you don't know anything'. That would be your stance. We have simply disagreed.

You disagree not because of evidence, but comfort. I've provided the evidence that the experiments were flawed and cannot be recreated.

    Therefor you are technically wrong.

But, I don't need magical water to enjoy life.

I believe in plenty of things that don't comfort me esp enviromental issues. So there goes that theory.

Whoa, there. You can't prove a negative. What you are asserting is your belief that the procedures used were flawed. You aren't able to prove what the dude in question did was actually false/flawed or a scam.

Confusing actual proof with the term "proof" leads to some false premises.

You don't have a leg to stand on.

You get defensive because of this.

You are concerned about environmental issues because of the nature of caring about nature. You feel special.

I care about nature too, but I'm not stupid about it. I spent a long time being skeptical of global warming. You probably dived right in and started arguing with skeptics or deniers without knowing a single thing about it.
