I think I will have a PJ beanie to donate. It has never fit on my melon but I really like it so I just look at it. It is the maroon one from a few years ago. I have never been able to wear it cause it hurt my head immediately when I put it on. I'll think about it. It is nice!! Amy and I will be there for night 2 only!!! Can't wait to see you all again!0

I was gonna post that I'd definitely be in for Thursday, but then I remembered I'm taking my brother and he's only 15. (he's a huge fan and this will be his first concert ever, can't wait to see how he reacts, hehe) Might be in for Friday, but I gotta talk to my friend first. We will definitely be up for a post-party Friday night and I'd love to meet some fellow fans. I'll stay posted on all of this.He floated back down 'cause he wanted to share, his key to the locks on the chains he saw everywhere.0

Wish I were going to Chicago again! We got tix to DC instead this time. I am going to have to try and see if I can talk the husband into coming down anyway. It's not that long of a drive for us in Michigan. And I can say that the Smile wishlist shirts are amazing! I wore mine the other night to Sammy Hagar (i know, I know but we had great seats on the stage

If there is concern about making this pre party an all ages event, then Exchequer might be the best option. I am pretty sure that it is an all ages place as it is more restaurant than bar. It is also really big and should be able to hold however many people show up. Plus, if memory serves, they have a relatively good price on pitchers of beer.0

Here's the list we'll work off of - but if anyone feels we should add/cross off the list, please do so. I'd like to narrow it down to 3-5 bars to visit for the evening.
I think I'm also going to call them tomorrow or Monday and check capacity - that will also help narrow down our choices.

We cross South Loop Club off the list as Jeannette said it was too small. Rock Bottom is too far away, and Cactus looks a bit far too.
So who's in?
i think im in! if i cant make the pub crawl - im definitely in for meeting up before thursday nite's show
just some notes on a couple of these suggestions - the exchequer stinks - its not really a pub - its actually a family style restaurant with a little bar area in the front (basically - its like a local diner - yet they charge a pretty penny for tiny mixed drinks) - its a pretty dirty place as well...
the elephant and castle is nice - but it also is mainly a restaurant - they have a larger bar area than exchequer - but im not sure if it will be able to accomodate everyone who's planning on attending
at any rate - i look forward to meeting a bunch of you! and that wishilist foundation t-shirt looks awesome! im in for one of those as well!
EDIT - oof - i just saw lawguy's comment - yeah - if its going to be an all ages event - then maybe we should be looking for a restaurant-type place (wth was i thinkin?! i have to realize that its not always about the booze! lol)1995.07.09 - 1995.07.11 - 1998.06.27 - 1998.06.29 - 2000.10.08 - 2000.10.09 - 2003.06.18 - 2003.06.21 - 2006.05.16 - 2006.05.17 - 2006.06.30 - 2007.08.05 - 2008.08.21 (ev solo) - 2009.08.24 - 2011.06.28 (ev solo) - 2011.09.03 - 2013.07.19 - 2016.08.22 - 2018.08.18 - 2022.02.09 (ev w/ earthlings) - 2023.09.050 -
There is a restaurant/wine bar/bar at the Best Western. Food is decent and cheap, beer is cold and it is never crowded. Might be a good place for a larger crowd. I know that they have allowed other groups to do fundraisers there so please keep in mind. It is at 11th and Michigan, about 5 blocks from venue. Gotta love the stella on tap...Chi 3/94

My wife and I are flying in from Carolina on thursday afternoon. As of right now, we only have tix for N2, but I am trying to change that! Count us in for both pre-partys though for sure!
This will be our first time in Chi-town and we have a ton of questions (too many for a post) around places to stay, places to see, cubs game, accessing the L, etc.
Is there anybody who wouldn't mind sharing some knowledge and answering some questions via phone?
We are really looking forward to spending some time in this great city.Empty pockets will allow a greater sense of wealth.

boxorbag wrote:i would cross millers pub of the list. used to go there alot. i cant imagine a party of even 20 in there. long and narrow. pretty much an eatery. hackneys, kaseys, bar louie all are right by each other so you could check those out pretty easily. cactus is not really that far so that might be worth a shot also. wish i could make it the 17th but i think im working at 10pm that night. good luck though. cant wait to meet all of you. were going to have a great time no matter where it ends up being.
Ok.. crossed Miller's off the list. Sucks you can't make it, but we'll be seeing you in just a few weeks!!irieinindy wrote:Hey Foxy Mop and everyone else.
