    standing just inside the front door, anna could see the expanse of her loft before her. she could see he shredded canvas leaning against the wall that hid the kitchen from view. she could see paint dried on the floorboards where she knew it hadn't been before. she could also see the painting she'd done of davey. she smiled at the thought of her lover.a nd then stopped herself when she remmbered he was no longer a part of her life. johnny dropping her bag on the floor brought her out of her reminiscing.
