I was doing more Soundgarden research when I stumbled upon this thread so I thought I'd take the time to respond to some queries.gornandez wrote:

Sorry to disappoint you, but there aren't many out there-and if there are, they're being hoarded. 2/12/89 and 7/22/92 are the best.Marie Curie wrote:I'll do that (as I said before, in 2 weeks). But I think that the only 95 DVD that is worth ripping the audio is the Reggio Emilia. The other ones have very poor quality audio.
I agree. One of these days I'll torrent the audio from my VID3, thereby eliminating the need for a DVD rip. I think this is my favorite SG boot. Awesome video too. Best "Head Down" I've ever heard.Techno Ted 33 wrote:After doing some digging, here is what I found for shows (4) in which "Fresh Tendrils" was performed, with a surplus of the Superunknown tracks that were played in 1994. However, I was looking to see if "FT" was performed in 95; which I hope it was, as it would increase the chances of someone having a bootleg of the show.
1) March 12, 1994: London, UK Shepherd's Bush Empire

NOTE: This fest was one that boasted Jeff Buckley as well!
Add to this 7/01/94. The setlist for this will be in the new Live Guide.
Also: "4th Of July" was performed at least once in 1996 but the recording still hasn't surfaced.Duder5k wrote:Whoa, whoa, whoa, they actually did Fresh Tendrils live? I have a vague memory of seeing that song in a set list over at Zomb, but then again maybe I mistook it for something else.
AFAIK they never did Fresh Tendrils, and Holy Water and some tracks from DOTU. Or did they?
"Holy Water" was performed at least once in 1991-sadly I doubt that recording is going to surface. I'm certain it was performed at other 1991 shows, but alas, so few have surfaced...Marie Curie wrote:So, according to the SG Live Guide, New Damage was indeed played once:
But there's no mention of Holy Water [2/08/94], what makes me wonder why the hell someone put the song on the setlist over at db.etree
Because Etree people don't fact check...Marie Curie wrote:Sorry, I only have the Perth show from the Big Day Out Festival. I think the Gold Coast date wasn't even recorded
I'm fairly certain Gold Coast was recorded, but I doubt it will ever surface. I'm torrenting the Sydney BDO [1/27/97] as soon as the Live Guide goes back up.opiumrebel wrote:Hi there, first of all big kudos to Marie Curie for posting top notch Soundgarden Bootlegs. Is it possible to repost the 96 Denver bootleg, saw "Helter Skelter" on Youtube, amazing. And does someone have a bootleg from the 96 concert at the Zenith in Munich. I was there, what's outstanding in Munich was the version of "Black Hole Sun", Chris played a beautiful intro to the song. The Intro was reverb and delay drenched. I've downloaded the London and the Glasgow bootleg but he never did it there. I've also attended the 94 concert at the Terminal 1 in Munich. This was also a cool concert. They where in a fab mood, selecting someone from the audience to have a beer with them on stage. Chris apologized several times for the long intro. (The intro tape, "Night Surf", was going on a long time but they didn't have a backdrop screen to show the film, so the intro was played over an empty stage)
Thanks in advance
!!!!!
Your info has duly been added to my Munich 1994 and 1996 entries. Thanks!bharQ wrote:that would have to be my top request for a soundgarden show... the 94 calgary show in its entirety...wow

I would be eternally grateful if you could bring that mareede stuff over here.Especially the tokyo show.Once again I dont mean to sound greedy(more, more!)I just love this band and love new stuff I dont have.I will up stuff by request if I have it.So.....request!
The easiest way to build a collection in the pre-torrent days was to trade a shit ton and build up a huge collection in order to unearth rarer recordings. I'm still trying to do this, but it's gotten much, much harder. I have like 100 shows, but tracking down unsurfaced recordings is getting harder. I need help!sunshine10 wrote:You are very welcome for all the shows!! All I'm doing is sharing what I'm taking... I do have the Stockholm 3-21-94 show, but it is incomplete. I'll upload it tonight for you. That's exciting to hear there will be more SG torrents coming... Does Mareede know about this thread? Do you know of any others for SG bootlegs? I don't.... This is the only one I've found much of anything on.sunshine10 wrote:Sorry for the long post!!!!!!

I recently discovered that Violently Happy is really the Paris show (4/08/94). How this escaped me earlier I don't know! The result: we have one less 1994 show and two sources of the Paris show. I feel like an idiot.Mike_Muse_Rage wrote:Woah, does anyone have the soundboard source for the Reading 1995 show?
Kim Thayil does. Seriously though, at least both audios currently out there sound great...sunshine10 wrote:I found a post by someone in a topix thread talking about an audience recording of SG's second to last show in Maui 2/8/97... does anyone have this, or know anyting about it? Thanks!!

I'll be checking in here more often from now on. I'm currently living in France on an internship so my boot supply is limited but I'll do my best to continue posting as many new shows as I can. Also, as I stated at the beginning of this thread, the Soundgarden Live Guide is undergoing a major rebuild four years in the making. I anticipate it will be done within a month, but that depends on how much more I feel like doing with it. As it is there are at least 25% more shows and tons more information! I'll keep y'all posted on this.0 -
Glad to see you here Matt, can't wait to see the SG Live Guide back up again!“Life is life everywhere. Life is in ourselves and not outside us. There will be men beside me, and the important thing is to be a man among men and to remain a man always, whatever the misfortunes, not to despair and not to fall - that is the aim of life, that is its purpose.”

and thanks to Marie for startin this thread it looks like its attractin attention from people who have moe info and bootlegs of Soundgarden which is great going.0 -

Same with me, nice to have you around here. Your SG-Live Guide brought back some nice memories. If you are updating the stuff I can email you the pictures of the two ticket stubs I have, from 94 and 96. I also will search deep in my memory for information about the two shows, 96 in Munich also featured a Ben incident, seems the 96 tour was full of Ben incidents. To bad I wasn't a setlist collector back then, sure they had a core setlist on every tour, but the little surprises would be nice to now.0 -

thanks mareede!!! is this show the same show that featured a mini TOTD reunion in which they played reach down and hunger strike?0
-
No, you're thinking of 9/13/92 Irvine, two days later.
Quibble: why is it that most of PJ's Lollapalooza shows have surfaced, but only like 20% of Soundgarden's have? They were higher on the bill, after all.0 -
not sure? what was pj stand on taping? i know sg wasnt exactly encouraging it. this was a festival show though. the vancouver boot from 92 lolla for sg is aweome, great sound quality!0

does anyone have a mp3 of reach down from the 1992/11/13 irvine meadows TOTD mini reunion? pretty please0

Thanks as always, Matt, for the show!! You've helped so many people increase their SG collections. Can't wait to see the new Live Guide!0

Matt the new Live Guide is looking awesome. And just in time, because I'm in real 90's/alt mood again. Keep the cool shows coming dude, and thanks a bunch for really contributing so much.
Anyway, they only played Holy Water once?! That's one of my favs off of BMF. Had no idea they played Head Down and 4th Of July in 96/97 either, thought they stopped playing both of those in '95.0 -

Thanks for the kind words. Here's what I know about the three songs you mentioned:
Holy Water-played on 9/05/91 in Seattle at a BMF warmup show. This is the only known time it was played, but I'm sure they played it again at least a few more times; we only have ONE of the 1991 headlining gigs, amazingly! If they played it again, it would have been on that tour.
Head Down-Played a handful of times post-1995. Chris teases it before "Pretty Noose" on 7/07/96 Quebec, which proved to me that "Head Down" and "Pretty Noose" are in the same tuning. Played again on 9/16/96, 12/18/96, 1/16/97 and 1/22/97. Chris stated on many occasions that it was his favorite Soundgarden song.
4th of July-Known to have been played at the Seattle Lollapalooza warmup show on 6/20/96 (confirmed by multiple sources) and I think there's a very good chance they played it at the Vancouver Blind Date show (6/15/96) as well, but that's speculation. A review of the 9/30/96 Prague show mentions this song as being played, but I'm kind of suspicious of this, since the same review mentions "The Day I Tried To Live" being played, which was dropped after 1994. I suppose it's possible, though; they did have a knack for resurrecting old and/or rarely-played songs on that tour (see "Full On Kevin's Mom" from 9/16/96). Still, the only one of the shows I mentioned that's confirmed is 6/20/96 Seattle.
I'm also listening to the album version right now, coincidentally.
They would on occasion drag out an old song from the pre-BMF archives on the DOTU tour:
Flower-every show from 7/02-7/09/96
Full On Kevin's Mom-9/16/96
Room A Thousand Years Wide-12/02/96
Nothing To Say-12/18/96 [the last Seattle show...how fitting!]
Not coincidentally, shows in which these were played are near the top of my SG wishlist. I'm hot after 7/02/96, 12/02/96 and 12/18/96 since I know traders that have them, but I haven't had success yet.
I'll keep y'all posted.0
