don't believe the rumors. i've tried ticketmaster every day since they originally sold out. no luck.

pretty soon i might just cave and buy a ticket the hard way. it's easier to justify since it looks like pearl jam won't be coming around this year.

  • nice! do you have the on sale info for this one?

he's totally worth it, but its tough considering face is $35
(and i've spent too much $$ on other shows (rage, bjork, bright eyes)...
I talked to box office guy and he also said no dice on more tix being released
I'm still going to go and try my luck day of the show
maybe someone will take pity on us fans??

    oh yeah...but tomorrow I SEE him. ;)

    HI MATT!
I died. I died and you just stood there. I died and you watched. I died and you walked by and said no. I'm dead.

yeah, it's especially tough to justify for someone like me who's already going to his philly and baltimore shows. :D

not that going to baltimore in the middle of the week is easy to justify...

but i actually passed on rage tickets when i saw that they were gonna be around $100 each through ticketmaster. i really like rage, but the logic in my head told me that i'd rather see chris cornell for a third time. stupid decision? arguably. but it was mine to make...

i'm not counting on having any luck at the venue, but stranger things have happened if you wanna try it. when pearl jam played irving plaza last year, there was a girl sitting outside with a sign that said "i need a ticket." she was there for a few hours, and then eventually somebody just walked by and handed one to her.

the scalpers at the venue will likely be charging just as much as they are right now. the prices will come down, but not until after he takes the stage... and that's kind of a buzzkill.

That's cool. Would love to follow him too, but timing off for me (and apparently my good tkt karma hasn't kicked in yet)

sad that $100 seems to be going rate...didn't realize rage was so $$ until after i made the purchase for 2 tix. (overcome by the novelty of tbastard actually taking my $$ for a change)

makes me appreciate pj and 10c all the more...

scalping at the show will depend on the demand. biggest concern is getting ripped off with a counterfeit

excuse me for sounding like a dick here, but there are what, 10 bands or so on the bill for that show, the ticket is 83 bucks (ticketmaster fees are a different story), you're not just paying for rage alone, i hope you realize this before you get your ticket scanned at the gate, "rage being $$", thanks I've had my laugh for the day

    rant over
    enjoy the show!
    looking for 2 to Columbia...

    This in my email today:

"Hello Chris Cornell fans! We're thrilled that you'll
be attending Wednesday's Yahoo! Music concert taping
and we have even better news: WE'VE DECIDED TO EXTEND
THE INVITATION TO EVEN MORE FANS.

So go ahead and invite up to TWO more friends and send
    us their names.

    ASAP, limited number of spaces.

A Chris Cornell exclusive concert! No one wants to
    miss this!"

So that's them asking me for two more names to add to tonight's LA guest list.

    Any takers?

didn't think my post was cause for any ranting. is rage worth it? YES
Is it whole day event with other amazing artists? yes
Am i psyched to go and that they're back together? YES
Will i be stuck in traffic longer then the artists play? dbl YES

but that aside, $100 a tkt is alot IMO (not just rage, i paid same for bjork too) I want artists to make $$ and live good lives, but I also think its important to price fairly so audience is not lmtd to people with the bucks to spend
citing chris as an example, someone I place higher then rage, his tkt price $35
and yes i know scalpers are having a field day...but at least he's trying to keep prices reasonable and affordable

    rebuttal over
and thanks I will are you going? if you are, hope you have a good show too..

it's all good... shit, tickets are expensive these days, no getting over that, with gas prices rising it's not cheap to move all that gear around the country... as for chris cornell, i appreciate him keeping his tickets low, although my tickets for toronto were $45, not sure if that was american or canadian, haven't checked my bank statement yet, but in the grand scheme of things would pay just about whatever was charged to see any one of my favorite bands live...you could just think of it this way, take that 35 for the cornell show and multiply it by three, rock the bells has rage, wu tang, and the roots atop the bill... not that bad for 30 bucks a band, not to mention the others on the bill... yeah, looking at the $100 bucks after fees seems like a lot, but compare that to what your getting in return and i think it's a great deal

sorry, I get a little defensive on here when people suggest that bands are in in for the money alone, especially bands that have spent their careers doing nothing but good and treating their fans well, taking money from the fans with high ticket prices... people here bitched and moaned about the ticket prices for the 2006 pj tour, wondering why they weren't as cheap as the 2003 tour... is anything as cheap as it was in 2003?

and I'll be at the randall's show one way or another, that $100 ticket kept me from buying right away, i had just spent money on cornell, modest mouse, and lolla tix so I figured that I would wait a few days to get them... but it turns out they sold out in seven minutes, so as of right now I have no tickets, but I'll be there

and I really meant it, enjoy the show! it's gunna be sick! :D

If tonight's show was a harbinger of this tour.....it's gonna be good.

    The band....tight.

    Cornell....loose, free, in great voice.

    "Spoonman", people. "Spoonman".

    "Billie Jean"....with a band behind it....stunning.

That man has no business being able to still hit those notes. But I'm glad he can.

Excellent way to spend a Wednesday night!
