    I'm beginning to feel like we are part of the American democracy with this thread. No matter how much we raise our voices, no matter how much we protest--if the goverment isn't willing to change all we are doing is wasting time.

    If the boys want to come here, they will. We are the new Europe, we'll see them in 2009. Believe me, I hope I'm wrong. But, something in my belly is telling me I'm not. Am I pissed? No. Do I wish they would come here? Yes. Why do I answer my own questions? I don't know.

    But, what I do know is even if the boys do not come here, I will not hate them, I will not bag on them. If they want to come, they will come.

    Hmmm, that's a bit of a downer. I think they'll be down here before the elections doing some activism.

    Anybody up for planting a tree to reduce the "carbon footprint" of the tour if they'll just come to the SOUTH?!

    A few thousand oaks and pines should do it...even the cute little "trees" with five serrated leaves will work ( as long as you tell me where they're planted!)

    Please come south...I may not make it till 2009...uggggh!

    everybody who buys a ticket in the south must agree to plant a tree....an idea that, while funny, may actually have some merit...

    Let's keep it to NATIVE hardwoods or long-leaf pines (which will only thrive in the right kind of soil, but they are rare compared to other pines. They form an eco-system composed of members that can only live in and among long-leaf pines.) or let's give money to the effort to save the firs in the Smokie Mountains.

    How's that for a bump????

    well, seeing as how we're in the "city of oaks" in the tar heel state, where the official tree is the longleaf pine, i think we can do that....

    Long-leaf pines rock..................the endangered Red Cockaded Woodpeckers will only nest in mature long-leafs that have heart disease (yes, there is a heart disease for plants). Neat little birds........can drive an hour or so either east or south to check them out.

    My cat just meowed. This came after she ran full throttle down the hall about 4 times for no apparent reason. Now I'm no "Cat Whisperer" or anything but I think that meow probably means something along the lines of: Pearl Jam please play the South. So there ya go.

    Oh and a catch up bump for the endangered Red Cockaded Woodpecker and well.........Trees!
