I want to see that, too! And Contagion. Let us know how it is if you see it (no spoilers  ).
Saw Contagion on Saturday. I liked it.
Didn't realize how many big name stars were in it.

(I could not stop staring at Jude Law's front tooth whenever he was on screen... )

I saw Bent today at work. It's a movie from 1997. It was very moving and contained a gorgeous performance of Mick Jagger.

It's based on a play by the same name and is about the persecution of homosexuals in Nazi Germany. It's not an easy movie to watch, but the actors are stunning and the cinematography was amazing.

saw ides of march this weekend. really enjoyed it. my brother, who is in politics, didn't care for it too much as he thought it was pretty unrealistic.

Was bored tonight and had a free movie ticket so i decided to check out Real Steel. It was ok. Some slow parts thrown in there. I chuckled a few times. Hugh Jackman and Evangeline Lilly (Kate from Lost :D ) were decent. Even the little kid i liked. Some kids in movies i just don't think are good and believable but he did well.

Saw "Black Death" a couple of nights ago streaming on Netflix, I thought it was really good. I saw one person in this thread describe it as "Awwwfffuuulll", so don't take my opinion to the bank. Anything with Sean Bean is going to be at least good. It's not very fast paced, but the final act is pretty intense.

Anyone seen Paranormal Activity 3 yet? I'm always up for a good scare, was wondering if this was worth my time.

  • So I saw Tintin yesterday.

I was really skeptical of this from the trailers. Now having seen it, I'll say that the story itself isn't anything special and too much of the humour falls flat.

But... and this is a BIG but...

The film is visually stunning. Like 'holy *beep* I can't believe that's not real' stunning.

I came out of this thoroughly convinced that we're not far off from this being the standard of film-making. No more expensive action sequences, no on location shots, no concerns about actors' age or appearance. I'm not saying that's necessarily a good thing, but don't see this and tell me it's not quite feasible.

Anyway, here's my full review for Tintin: http://wp.me/p1LZHn-8l

Ok, this totally depends on how easily you get scared. My friend wants to go see PA3 this coming Friday. And since I didn't bother seeing the first 2, we rented them this past weekend. I didn't find them scary. At all. I literally laughed during the movies. I will go see the 3rd, because she really wants me to go, and it is an evening out. And because I have a coupon for 50% off that expires on the 31st.

I am more into movies like Saw...I couldn't get past the fourth one...and watched all the others in FF with no sound. Now that's my kind of scary.
Lots of love, light and hugs to you all!

I've seen the Martin Scorsese documentary about George Harrison today, it's called "Living in the material world".

It was very touching and I learned a lot of stuff about him that I didn't know before. A very interesting and sympathetic guy with amazing talent. Good stuff

  • watched Everything Must Go with Will Farell last night. It's a serious movie about an alcoholic that loses his job, his wife, basically his whole life. He comes home and all his shit is scattered on his front lawn, the locks changed on the doors. So he just plunks himself down in his easy chair, and acts as if his front lawn is his living room.

my wife said it was slow moving, but I liked it.

Ok we rented 5 movies over this past week.

Bloodworth, Bad Teacher, Hesher: All really good.

Paranormal Activity 1 & 2: We laughed through both. Yeah, not scary enough for us.

Going to see the 3rd installment because a friend asked me. I hope I don't laugh too hard. :?

I'll respectfully disagree on Hesher. I had high hopes for that film but found it to be a total waste of time. I thought it was extremely unrealistic and they could have done much more with many of the characters. I don't know what is going on with Natalie Portman lately but where she used to be automatic for a good film, recently she has made some terrible choices.

Damn. I kinda wanted to see Hersher. I still may check it form the library.
btw, Heisenberg -- I know its not movies, but that Breaking Bad series you star in is awesome! I'm in the middle of season 3 right now.

I got Buitiful with Javier Bardem, Green Hornet, and Love & other drugs for this weekend..supposed to rain a lot!
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)

It's okay, Heisenberg. We did find the scenarios far-fetched. Although there were really sad and shocking parts, there were some parts that we found really funny. Hesher is definitely not for everyone.

Johnny Pistachio, Green Hornet, Love & Other Drugs were two that we liked also. We haven't seen Buitiful, yet.

Again, these are just my opinions, so you don't have to take them as law.:lol:

Yes...my show Breaking Bad is legit!! Each season gets better and better. It's a shame that after next season I will no longer be on TV...by the way...wanna buy some meth? ;)

As for the films you mentioned..."Biutiful" is amazing. Javier Bardim is fantastic, but it is a very sad film. Haven't seen "Green Hornet" but the only redeeming quality I found in "Love & Other Drugs" was Anne Hathaway's nakedness  Other than that it's your stereotypical formulaic rom-com.

I watched "Trailer Park Boys" last week. If you like white trash, hapless fools bumbling their way through criminal escapades, this flick is for YOU!

"Bad Teacher" this week. Extra funny, because I have a friend who's a teacher, and I get a little tired of the "Woe is us, teachers work harder than anyone else in the world" shtick.

Sorry folks. I thought Paranormal Craptivity 3 was idiotic. Just like the first two. Not scary at all. Thank goodness I am over the nausea from watching it. On a very good note, I did get to see my friends.
