  • Anyone going to the IMAX showing of the last two episodes?

I would buy one of the posters from someone if so...not sure I can go, my wife is having surgery the morning following the premiere and I will be on baby duty while she recovers.

  • ^^ Never mind, going the first night @ 10. Taking the day off work on Friday to be with my wife anyway might as well check it out. Will update on the experience / if I get a poster.

  • Got a few posters and the imax experience was pretty awesome, especially the battle at the wall and some of those long single shots during the battle. Recommend if it is showing near you on IMAX!

Seems characters will die this season that are still alive in the books. Looks like this is my jumping off point for the show. Jojen's death was a bit of a disappointment, and I worried the show might end up spoiling the books and this season might just do that. So I am gonna have to step away from the show until the books finish. I guess I'll have something to watch when I retire....

Might as well start killing them now. As long is it takes Martin to chuck out a new book, the actors will start dying off in real life due to natural causes before he can kill them on paper.

    I never saw it.

Started to read the books. I am 4 chapters in, but I find its very difficult to follow. Way too many names, places, events, titles, etc and they all have pretty similar names due to the dialect. Does it get easier?

I'm about to finish the first book. Have enjoyed GRRM's writing style but I do agree that it can be confusing. If I hadn't already watched the show I would be lost.

yeah, I have two 'wikipedia' style websites bookmarked and refer to those to summarize every chapter, which is nice.... but Id also like to not have to depend on it. This latest chapter (4) (Daenerys I) was not discernible by me. It was like it were in a different language.

I think I am going to like the story and the epicness of it... and the fact that it has been transcribed into what I hear is a pretty damn good show... but I don't want to grind out the books if its not a good read.

The Kindle version is nice because you can press a name and it will give you a short synopsis.

I didn't realize that the book version had a breakdown of all the houses at the back of the book until I finished it ... could have saved me a lot of time going back and forth trying to figure who was who

Cool episode. Maybe my favorite opening scene since the first episode. Wish the witch would've said the whole prophecy, but a cool adaptation none the less.

I'll wait and watch the full episodes in full HD glory.

Starter episode to the season..its tough getting reaquainted with all these characters/story lines.

I'm sitting out this season since it passes the books, but had free HBO this week so I did watch the first episode. Glad it didn't spoil anything that the books haven't got to yet.

last night was great, I am losing track of what did/didnt happen in the books as we move beyond the 3rd book. Good to see some sex, violence, and humor throughout!

There was lots of action, but I feel like they packed two episodes into one.
