Neil Marshall really delivers in the episodes he directs. Hope to see him named for a season 5 or 6 episode.

That episode should have went another 40 minutes to conclusion of the fight.

i hated to see ygritte go too. i really liked her character. she hesitated because she loved jon snow, and that love ended up costing her her life.

Can someone tell me how Stannis and his army got around the Wall to take Mance prisoner?

There are 2 other castles on each end of the wall where it meets the oceans that are still in use. One on the side closest to Braavos where he was and bought his army.

I don't understand how they can devote an entire episode to the battle on the wall but only give Tyrion 3 minutes in this episode.

What a great season -- I wish they had popped one additional shocker there at the end in addition to what they included....maybe they will not include this particular one from the books?
All in all, an amazing season.

No it is still going to happen from what I read. I think holding off what you are referring to for next season is the right decision. It would have been too much with all that happened in the finale, and now they can properly do it next year. With the beginnings of books 4 and 5 being slow, it will be a good thing they held off.

i'm a bit annoyed that they didn't do it. now we have to wait a year for it.. it would have been a great and shocking way to end the season..
all in all a good episode..

Nice ^^ thanks for posting that.
I have been an admirer of hers since 300 (You are not my king) but her role as Queen Regent is pretty awesome. Love that she seems to be another member of this cast that has a good time doing what they are doing.

This was my favorite season so far. of course it coincides with my favorite part of the series so that is no surprise.
    Overall great stuff.

Some very different directions than the book in some parts but thats okay (i hope)

As a book reader i'm concerned that we are almost all the way caught up wtih Bran's strory through book 5.......

When I got to that part in the books i squeeeed to myself oh yea this is a fantasy book and i had the same reaction to the children on the TV show too so that was good.

If the show cuts back with the Bran scenes I'm ok but if they start jumping a head of the books I will have to put the show on hold. The death of Jojen kinda annoyed me. The books are a better experience and I don't want the show to ruin it for me.
