Any younger people planning on this? I'm nineteen - it'd be great if there were some other traveling PJ fans around my age. Thankfully, once I leave the hotel room, I can quit being nineteen and become twenty-two... old enough to go to the bars

I just booked two nights, Sunday and Monday, for $57 a night. $139.55 total after taxes and whatnot.

Thank you guys so much for letting everyone know about this deal!

Does anyone know, from previous experience, how long I'll be able to get this deal for? They must be getting low on rooms, if there are 100 people booking rooms just from the Pearl Jam forums

Hope there are at least a few left. I need to whittle down my credit card a bit before I proceed to screw myself all over again.

No one knows that. There might be 100 rooms left, there might be none. BUT, if the Hyatt runs out of rooms, there is a decent chance that you'll get another 4* hotel for around the same price. I can't imagine that the Hyatt is the only hotel with vacancy at that time. But, since EVERYONE who has bid between $57 and $60 is getting the Hyatt, it is safe to say that it is the only hotel that is currently that cheap within these parameters (4*, Loop area in DT Chicago). Priceline inventories change weekly (as far as I know) so for all we know, next week you could get the Hyatt or the Hilton or another hotel for $50. Or, the opposite could happen and no 4* hotel will ever be available for anywhere near this bargain price between now and August.

Here are the other hotels that you could get a room at bidding under these parameters:

Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park Area

    4 Star
    Hilton Chicago
    Hilton Palmer House
    W Chicago City Center
    Fairmont Chicago
    Hard Rock Hotel Chicago
    Swissotel Hotel Chicago
    Hyatt Regency Chicago
    Renaissance Chicago
    Hotel Monaco
    Hotel Burnham Chicago
    The Blackstone Renaissance

So, as you can see, there are a lot of choices and likely a lot of inventory at that time, especially since Sunday and Monday are typically slower days for hotels. I would say that you have a pretty good chance of getting a room in the $60-$70 range any time in the next month or two. You just may not get the Hyatt (if that matters to you).

    Hope that helped.

That helped plenty - thanks a lot!
I think getting the Hyatt would be a lot of fun, lots of PJ fans to meet/drink/play guitar/do whatever with. That said, it wouldn't be the end of the world to end up somewhere else.

A bit of a bummer - looks like I won't be able to use Priceline, since I'm below 21 :(

Price line doesn't ask for your age. Anyone can use it.

They do, actually, for the "Name your price" section:
Reservation Name (Age 21 or older)
Please enter the name of the person who will be checking into the hotel. They must present a valid photo ID and credit card.

    So it does.

I doubt that would be enforced though. I remember back in the day, it used to not be available to Canadian residents at all. So I would just bid using a fake American address, get the rooms and check in without any issues.

Although according to the Hyatt site, you must be 21 to book there. I just want to make sure if I fly down from Toronto that I've got a roof over my head
