I'm driving in from Detroit. Is it true that the Hyatt is asking for 48 dollars a night parking???? WTF if true. Any garages close by to park?

there is another thread discussing the parking situation. I found a site that lists parking garages around the hotel. I'm not sure how much they are. I will be calling a few of them closer to the date to see if we find one with a decent price.

    http://www.chicagoparkingmap.com/

also, add corduroy10 to the list of people staying at the hotel

    Whats the parking thread?
I just called Amtrak because they do overnight parking. Early bird rate is Monday through Friday. 19.99 flat rate. hope that helps out some people. (not me though!)

Wow guys, thank you so much for this tip! I got my 6 night hotel stay for only $65/night! I was expecting to pay almost double that. And it's so cool to have that many PJ fans under one roof. Add me + my bf (not sure of his user name here... he's not much of a message poster).

the minimum offer accepted is up to $65/night? did you submit a lower offer?

Usually I check it in.. I've got a pretty heavy duty hard-shell case, and I make sure it's thoroughly marked as fragile, and usually they have a separate place to check in fragile items... no damage yet, and it's been through a lot of airports!

I just stayed at the Hyatt over the last weekend using a lowball priceline reservation. Great deal. If your early enough, there are a few spots to park in the Park Millenium Apartment's parking garage @$30 for the night. It's right behind the hotel, there is a beer/wine/snacks shop in the same building. I didn't check the prices but it has to be better than the $128 the hotel wants for a case of domestic beer

I pulled a $79 priceline for the 4 LA shows at a $250 hotel. That was nice.

    See you in Chicago

No worries - if you love playing and have trouble putting it down, as I did when I started (and still do), you'll have no problem developing your skill set!

  • I just booked a room and was able to get the Hyatt Regency for $60 +taxes for Sunday night but they wanted $72 for Saturday. I tried booking them separately. Not sure if I would have been able to get the $60 if I tried to do both nights at the same time.

Hm. If you booked them separately you may also want to call the Hyatt, let them know you reserved two nights, and ask if they can make sure you don't have to change rooms in the middle.. may as well get comfy :)

I booked the 1 night, Sunday. When it confirmed, it asked if I wanted to get the same rate on an additional night at the beginning or end of my stay... So I decided why not try for Saturday night as well and make some friends :D or find a 10c ticket? Doing this separately would result in 2 separate itineraries and it is possible I would have had to move from one room to another.. however, I decided I really didn't need the expense of Saturday night, so I cancelled out.

I'm only in for Sunday night - add me to your 1st posting please :)

Is there any chance this rate will get even cheaper a couple days before the shows? I live in Virginia, and I'd really like to come out for these shows, but I can't make plans very far in advance right now. I'm a recent college grad looking to start a job in the near future; hence, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get away (not to mention the fact that I'd have to be very cost conscious). If I can get away and make it happen, I was thinking I'd just Priceline a flight and the hotel at the last minute. One important question though: is the public transportation sufficient to get me from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the shows?
