doesn't suprise me after reading about what kind of brew they were making.
Haha and the reason I am not reviewing it now is that I also had a 120 minutes IPA, a Wet Hop American Summer Ale, and a Bitches Brew.

I don't know why I just now got to this thread.....since I absolutely LOVE beer
for those who don't know me, I live in Utah  . let me clear up a few misconceptions....you CAN drink here and there ARE plenty of bars. that said, the LDS influenced government would just as soon all us heathens moved away. but it ain't happening.
they do have some fucked up laws..."low" beer (4% ABV) can be bought at the grocery store. higher % beer, liquor and wine all have to be bought at the state liquor store....and it is fucking expensive. there are a lot of local brewers and they mostly all do high and low beers. I think there's some truth to their assertion that there's more "craft" in the low beers because you can't just rely on high alcohol content for sales. there really are some very good "grocery store" beers.
I subscribe to Draft Magazine. it kind of drives me crazy because the state liquor stores have a crap selection, so a lot of beers we never get. and, as much as I like beer, Draft is often Greek to me...which leads me to: what is the definition of a "session beer"? :?Post edited by Wobbie onIf I had known then what I know now...

Beer Advocate defines a Session Beer as:
"Any beer that contains no higher than 5 percent ABV, featuring a balance between malt and hop characters (ingredients) and, typically, a clean finish - a combination of which creates a beer with high drinkability. The purpose of a session beer is to allow a beer drinker to have multiple beers, within a reasonable time period or session, without overwhelming the senses or reaching inappropriate levels of intoxication.""FF, I've heard the droning about the Sawx being the baby dolls. Yeah, I get it, you guys invented baseball and suffered forever. I get it." -JearlPam09250 -
I wondered the same thing before.....from http://www.beeradvocate.com
EDIT: Well fenway posted the same thing I did.....beer advocate is still a cool site to roam around some thoughAll I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow
They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all0 -

thank you, FF. I guess there is actually a new trend afoot to produce LOWER alcohol beer. one advocate said "Why? Because I like to DRINK beer, not SIP beer." makes some sense to me....those double IPAs will fuck you up in a HURRY
P.S. I liked the "inappropriate levels" qualifier....that's always the key...get drunk, but not too drunkIf I had known then what I know now...

We only have one brewery down in Mizzip...Lazy Magnolia...and they do a mean pecan beer.
They also have one with sweet potatoes but I haven't had it. It is not very widely available in this neck of the woods. All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

I think session beers are originally a UK thing and I think they are typically served warmer than most beer.0 -
