That play was ridiculous. Nice to see the Mets score some runs too.

The Murphy play is an instant classic, I couldn't believe my eyes..anyway, hope Jerry gives him a chance tonight against the lefty..

Hope they can take two of three from the Dodgers.

My brother just got two free field level seats to tonight's game from his boss! I am so stoked cannot wait for the game - hopefully they continue to score tonight!

I thought for sure K-Rod was going to blow up..why does every save have to be a fucking struggle?

Yeah, but in fairness what is to be expected with this AAA lineup? It caught up with them..this team is build around Reyes, Beltran, Wright and Delgado..3 out of the 4 key guys missing virtually the entire season is pretty fucking hard to overcome..sucks..

Well, obviously the Mets were terrible last night, but the seats were fucking incredible, and it was still an awesome experience to see them from that close up. I was literally 7 rows behind the Mets dugout exactly parallel with 1B.

You know, even though I saw them get shelled twice this week, I think I should still be allowed in cause I have seen them win 3.5 times this year (the half is because I watched opening game at Citi even though they were playing in Cincinnati).

That's really the truth. Also, not having two starting pitchers that you were counting on, and your shiny new setup man out for most of the season does not help matters.

That's true, but at least have a GM ready to get someone. Perfect example is the Yankees. They lose Nady to a major setback last week. What did they do? They acquired Eric Hinske. The Yankees didn't really need him but still they added another piece to their bench. Not that Hinske is the second coming, but his bat would be better than some of the ones currently on the Mets.

Also, how they cannot do everything in their power to go out and acquire Roy Halladay right now is beyond me, especially if they had him through all of next season. In my mind, trade Martinez, Holt and Neise or whoever. A rotation started by Johan and Halladay with a healthy Beltran, Reyes and Wright, then go out and acquire Matt Holliday and BAM, you have serious contender.

At this point, its 2010 is a must win season.

Matt holiday is a poor OF and doesn't have a arm if his life depended on it. He's like murphy just older and billy boy will ask for a arm and a leg in return. The mets don't have major league ready prospects like othe teams have and that's what the jays want in return. All our good prospects are with the B-mets and in A ball

And this right here is why I want omar gone. He just makes the big splash and that's it really for him. I hope this season does blow up cause heads will roll. Those heads being omar and manuel. This team needs to get younger and faster. Only way you're gonna do that is trade away reyes while you still can.

Speaking of our shitty GM, he actually made a move tonight. Church out, Francoeur in..I like this trade with Atlanta..it was obvious that Church did not like playing in New York, and you can't blame him the way the organization and Jerry dicked him over..Not a huge move, but at least it's a start..Omar and the Mets should still do way more to address all the injuries, like you guys were suggesting..

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I have no interest in Holliday this season, I would sign him to a contract when he becomes a free agent. Even if he is not a great defender just stick him in left, he's still very good at the plate, even away from Coors and could only help our AAA lineup.

Not sure what I think of this move. Sure, Francoeur has way more potential/upside than Church, but Church is having a better season and is a great defensive OF, which was especially important w/Beltran out and how terrible this team is defensively anyway.

I don't know bout you but I'm tired our outfielders being good hitters and playing the outfield so bad.

I love love the francoeur deal. He's a high energy guy and has always loved playing here when the braves came into town.

I like it too, it isn't often you get a 25-year old outfielder with two 100-RBI seasons under his belt.

  • I'm surprised you guys like this deal... I don't. I think they got rid of Church just cause Jerry Manuel had some beef with him for some reason. I agree with this article...

I think its time to get rid of Minaya and Manuel.

If he was on the team last year, he'd be the fifth guy to play virtually the entire season. Reyes, Wright, Delgado and Beltran all played no less than 159 games in 20008.

That's a procedural move since he'll have to make some minor league starts to get ready for the majors.
