Wow, this is incredible..I understand that all teams have to deal with injuries, but this is far beyond that..yeah, Reyes will be out for a couple of months and Putz is gone till September..Sheffield is just about as good as being on the DL at this point with his legs...After Beltran and Wright, there is no one in that lineup. We are officially fucked, especially with the tough stretch of games coming up this month and the Phillies flying..

At this point I just want them to stay relatively close until some of the key guys come back and then hopefully make a run in September for the division and/or the wild card..

If the Phillies keep finding ways to lose games late staying close wont be a problem

Going to tomorrow nights game and sitting in the Ceasers Club. Lets hope Santana has a magical game and David Wright finally decides to hit a home run/hit at home in general.

Was an insane game. Johan was clearly not himself, but it was great anyway. So exciting. So glad the Mets did not give up after giving up the lead. Nice to see some power from the Metsies! On to game two. FUCK THE PHILLIES.

Btw, what do you guys think about Johan's reaction to being taking out by Jerry? On one hand, it's good to see him want the ball and battle, but on the other hand he did show up the manager..I'm not a Jerry guy, so I was all for it ;) ..though Santana did need to be taken out at that point, no question..

I thought it was fine. Johan shouldn't have wanted to come out, it shows that he's a true competitor.

Hopefully the Mets can pound Hamels and Pelf pitches a good game. I want to see some more power from Beltran and Wright.

    LGM.

Well, the Mets did pound Hamels and Pelfrey pitched a good game. What a bunch of fucking shit leaving 16 runners on base..pathetic..had plenty of fucking chances..

They did get 11 hits off Hamels, although only 1 was an extra base hit. And a few of them were just bloopers, and seeing eye singles. But admittedly, the Phils got their share of them last night too.

I must admit, as much as I despise the Mets, I do enjoy these series. Its like a playoff intensity in midseason. But I suppose that is what rivalries are all about.

Jerry needs to go. Tonight's loss is totally his fault. Taking out Parnell for Takahashi was such a bad move. Even though he's a lefty and three lefties were coming up, they were hitting .440 off him coming into the game!!! Don't play the fucking matchup you asshole Jerry! You should know that Takahashi can't get lefties out! This is the second time this season you've done this with Takahashi. Seriously, this is fucked and its time for Jerry to go.

Phillies Jerseys Buried at Citi Field?

By Mike Silva ~ June 11th, 2009. Filed under: Uncategorized.

Over at mikefrancesa.com the moderator received an odd, but interesting, email from someone who claims to have worked on Citi Field. Take a read:

I work for Hunt Construction. I was a foreman at Citi Field. There are 3 Phillies Jerseys buried in the ball park. As a lifelong Phillies fan, I felt it was my duty to jinx the Mets. I’m not telling you my real name for obvious reasons. The jerseys are:

    1. Under the Fanwalk bricks.
    2. Jackie Robinson Rotunda in the vicinity of the Ticket Office window.
    3. Near the vicinity of the ‘47 Shop near right field.

Obviously, this is a suspect email. The individual claims to be a foreman on the project. I would think that would narrow down who it could possibly be. The Yankees had this situation when someone tried to bury a Red Sox jersey at the new Yankee Stadium. That situation was averted; of course the Mets would be clueless to such shenanigans. In the end does it really matter? Regardless, it will make for great folk lore.

It’s another example about how pathetically obsessed the city of Philadelphia is with New York and the Mets.

That last line should be deleted :x :(
