Another PR nightmare for the Mets, Minaya should be fired for this. I can only imagine the visual on this. I was listening on the radio on the way to a Brooklyn Cyclones game. But as long as they're keeping him they should get him a speech coach, he says uh and um way too much.

Not that the Mets are going anywhere, but it's also too bad this overshadows the fact that their last three games have actually been good.

But the Mets have always been this way, they're paranoid about the media on a level that's slightly worse than the Knicks in the Isiah Thomas era.

I find it interesting that Wilpon is distancing himself from Omar, saying that he had no idea that the writer was going to be brought up..I don't believe it..hey whatever, just another disaster..

I find it hard to believe that Wilpon didn't know what Minaya was going to say. Perhaps Minaya figured he is going to get fired and decided to go in swinging.

i don't even think omar knows what he's gonna say half the time. up until yesterday omar's job was safe for another year. now after the cheap shot on adam rubin i'd say omar is gone and honestly i wouldn't miss him one bit.

Go for it, there are some great deals on stubhub..sad but good for the buyer....yeah, the $11 Porch tickets for tonight were definitely a mistake as after my purchase the 6 remaining tickets in that row were quickly changed to $41..lol..have fun if you make it over..

Yeah, I now think it was all Omar..Jeff came across very sincere and genuine in his brief apologetic conference before the game last night..

Can't believe how good the Mets have looked this week. Real nice surprise. Still not expecting anything from this season, but its just really nice to see some good baseball finally. And Francouer has been hot! Can't expect that to stay when he's only gotten one walk, but I hope he can keep tearing it up for a while.

Phillies just got Lee without giving up any major leaguers and w/o giving up Happ or Drabek. This sucks. They just got a lot better.

I really want to, but look at this lineup:

    Pagan
    Cora
    Wright
    Murphy
    Frenchy
    Sullivan
    Santos
    Berroa
    Santana

No way a team like this will continue to win..doesn't look like Reyes or Beltran are coming back anytime soon..

I'm hearing the middle of August for Reyes and Beltran. This series is crucial. If we can sweep the Rockies it is definitely doable. Remember, we were 7 1/2 up with 17 to play and missed the playoffs. Well, we're six games out with 63 games left. Its gonna be hard, but its doable.

    7-0 win :)

Wright is good as always. Murphy is playing on fire as is frenchy. Beltran will be back in 3 weeks bum knee and all. Reyes will be back in september as will putz. Wags is due back within a week or 2. This team is 5 1/2 games outta the wild card and 10 back of the phils. this season far from over or done.

    Again

    agreed

murphy needs to bulk up more if he wants a shot at 1st base next year. also he needs to get back to being a hitting nerd. seems to me he's focusing more on defense at 1st base instead of hitting. i'm really liking the idea of making pagan as our leftfielder for next year. its really refreshing to see someone have heart on this team. just sucks david wright isn't what piazza was with the mets.

Unreal tonight. I cannot believe this shit.

Oh yea... and Castillo is injured. That leaves Wright the only man standing from the opening day roster.

Whatever book Manuel was reading in the 10th inning, he ought to return it to the library. He could have let Stokes face more than one batter and could have kept Feliciano in after that strikeout.

Last night's game was possibly the most humiliating game of baseball I have ever watched. You just knew Pujols was gonna hit a grandslam there.

What a fucking disaster..and now arguably our best player this year gets injured walking down the steps? What are these guys made of fucking glass or something.....and Santana should shut the fuck up after a game like that..he did not deserve a win..

Time to clean house..I'd like to keep Beltran, Santana, Murphy, Frenchy, and Pelfrey...everyone else can go fuck themselves somewhere else!!

Uh, I'd add Wright, Reyes, Beltran and Pagan to that list.

Oh shit, of course I meant to include my favorite player, Beltran! Pagan I wouldn't mind back but don't care either way..Wright and Reyes I can do without for sure...Wright has become a weak singles hitter with no heart in the clutch and Reyes perhaps will never play again..lol..and his tender legs will always be an issue..

I think Pagan when healthy is a really nice player. And Wright, well of course he has no heart now. How dejected would you be if you were him? And the power, I'm convinced it will be back next season. The guy is the heart and soul of this team.

And Reyes, well, I'm optimistic but I understand why someone could do without him.

    And of course Sheffield again..

Man, I love the way Pagan is playing, aside from base running..just a little weary for the future as he is another injury prone player......and damn, I need to rip Wright more often..nice day by him..also looking forward to Parnell starting..
