Lou should have taken Soriano out of that game mid-inning after that bullshit!

    Fuck that guy!

    9-0 now.

    Fuck!

The problem with Soriano is the fact that he is an infielder. Put him at 2nd base.

Soriano shouldn't be on the field, PERIOD. He is horrible at defense. He get's enough balls in LF to boot, I sure don't want him messing up routine double plays.

The problem with Soriano is the fact that he is an infielder. Put him at 2nd base.

When he played 2B, he was also very much less than average defensively.

My problem with him is how he plays the game in LF. He doesn't have his head in the game! Between batters, he's always looking around, pacing back and forth checking out the crowd, etc.
He plays the game like he can't wait for it to be over, like he doesn't give a shit.

Now, I"m not saying he has to make EVERY play, but routine pop-ups shouldn't be dropped by a guy making millions of dollars.

    Bench him!
    Start Johnson.

This team can't play with top level teams. They can't put it all together either. They get good pitching, and they can't hit "again". These guys can beat up on bad pitching (nationals and pirates) but can't hit good pitching (phillies).

  • One game out! Hard to believe, Cards have Philly this weekend too. Offense came alive today and headed home....and they always play better at home..... First place in our sights.

well I'm a die hard cubs fan and i just saw mark buehrle throw a perfect game today... and lets just say i cannot be more disappointed. I mean c'mon cubs.. we should be absolutely destroying everyone in the NL. look at our lineup. i mean, milton bradley... you're aweful. soriano, get your shit together and catch a routine fly ball ... there is still a lot of time left so lets start playing baseball! On a positive note, Theriot is almost batting above 300, and were only 1 1/2 games back...

Playing some good ball of late. Hopefully we can keep it up. Come on Philly, beat STL.

    Yep.

Nice to see the bats starting to warm up.

Lee has been hitting the ball well over the last 3-4 weeks.
A-Ram has been crushing the ball the last week or so.
Soriano...dare I say...has been hitting the ball better and with some patience of late.
Johnson/Fukudome lead-off tandem has been getting on base and scoring runs.
Theroit is still solid as ever.

If they can find room for Fox in there, this could be a nasty offensive team in the second half!!!

I know how these things work, but after seeing/hearing the games since the All-star break...I'm starting to think this team is really coming around.

    1st place???

With Lilly, Soto, Dempster and Ramirez all spending time on the DL??? Who would have thunk it....

But you have to give them credit, because they went out and beat the shit out of teams, that they are supposed to beat the shit out of.

Take 4 from Washington, 3 from Cincy, and in between get your asses kicked by Philly.
    Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

seeing a game at Wrigley Field was everything i had hoped for and more, a lot more.

you just don't get the same feeling at these cookie cutter mega-million dollar,
deliver a prime rib sandwich and a cosmo to your seat completely impersonal newer parks.

    can't wait to go back.

i just wish i would have brought a broom.

    Go Cubs!
