alright...they lost a game that they were not favored to win and looked awful doing so. ladies and gentlemen: this is not the end of the world. we're 11-5. we had a great season. we're in the playoffs facing a team who has not won a playoff game since 1996. their coach has never won a playoff game. their qb has never won a playoff game. our coach and qb have never lost in the first round of the playoffs. step away from the ledge. maybe all those people last week who said we needed to lose a game were onto something.
yesterday was dreadful. absolutely dreadful. in all phases of the game. however i LOVE the fact that we get to turn around in a short week to get redemption. i love it.
so again....step away from the ledge. realize what this team has done with so many young bucks out there. with so many injuries that have happened. realize they are 11-5 and in the playoffs in a wide open nfc. this team is good. like i've been saying all along: i think we're gonna be even better next year. enjoy the ride people.
Yesterday WAS A PLAYOFF GAME and if they didn't look at it like one then next week will only be worse. And please stop with the NEVER HAPPEN before comment do u remember the last time people were throwing them around??? Two words ..................... Tampa Bay

2nd time in a few weeks I'm agreeing with the Jaegler. Just a brutal performance all around and a killer loss in the grand scheme but no doubt this team will respond and play well next week. Will it be enough? Maybe not but don't expect the Cowboys to whip us again - Andy Reid's teams don't get whipped very often.

it just amazes me how low key people are during a 6 game winning streak and an 11-5 season....only to go crazy after a bad loss. i don't get it. what will they say if we win on saturday? not a lot i guess.
lol...go look back at this thread. i had to try and pump life into it seemingly every week during that win streak. the most activity from a lot of people in here comes after losses.

Low key or had we all said we can't get too excited because we've seen this exact same thing unfold numerous times before. I love that u always believe in your team(that was me until last year when reality hit me in the face) Im not saying we can't beat dallas but what i'm saying is what 90% of the eagles fans in real life and this thread have said from mid season same leader = same result. The funny thing is that outside this thread i stick up for 5 and reid because people say they are junk. There not and like i've said before in this thread 5 and reid are the greatest eagles in history at there spots. But just because there the best we've had dosen't mean shit without a title.

that is pretty much the mentality of this town regarding the Eagles - makes me think that a certain portion of the media and fanbase hopes this team fails so they can rip them. Frankly if you look at this team realistically they are a year or two away from really contending for the Super Bowl title. With so many young players in key roles and a very leaky defense its more surprising they are 11-5 than yesterday's thrashing in my opinion. I have enjoyed the season and the winning but their weaknesses have always been there. As i said above I think they will play well next week and I give them a good chance to win the game. Unfortunately losing yesterday derails almost any hope of going to the Super Bowl. Unless the offense completely dominates for 3 games this team is not winning 3 straight road games against teams with good to great offenses. We are capable but don't see it happenening. For the naysayers on Reid and McNabb the pieces on offense are in place, a few tweaks over the offseason on defense and this team is a top contender for the next 2-3 years. I know those certain segments don't want to hear that but stepping back and looking at it that is the reality of this team.
I for one sure as hell don't want them to fail. Thats crazy i've always loved the eagles and always will. I never beat them up before,i've been the biggiest homer u could fine. Until last year when i finially took off my green blinders and looked at this with an open mind. I do however believe that this team is close when Kolb has a year under his belt i think the next year we will take off to new heights. We have 2 really good young wr's and good TE the line is good as well. We need STU to come back healthy resign sheldon to the contract he deserves, find a safety to go along side mikell. Learn to run the ball more and get shady ready to carry the rock. Resign Weaver to a 3-5 yr deal. And we will beat dallas this week,GO BIRDS!!!!

playoffs haven't started yet dude. season's not over. 11-5 and in the playoffs is pretty damn good considering all the turnover and injuries we've had this year.
If u don't think yesterday was a playoff game then i don't know what to tell ya. Win at your biggiest rivals stadium which gives u a week off to rest. A home playoff game and shot at hosting the NFC title game. Yesterday was not only a playoff game but a huge playoff game at that.

yup. i've said numerous times this year that this team reminds me a lot of the 2001 team in that they are so young and on the way up. you have to be realistic when looking at them. i had them winning 10 games before bradley got hurt. after that, i had them at 9-7. so they have surpassed my expectations, and i bet a lot of other's expectations on this board too. looking forward to the rematch!

it was a HUGE game and we got killed but we live to play again next week.
last year's season ender was even bigger, because if we lost our season would have been over, and we killed them.

Kinda like same shit different pile
Their heads were not in this game..its just a shame when you had a nice path to the SB potentially in front of you and they dont even show up

Soooo, I met Mike Vick in the Superfresh tonight....Man, was he pissed about yesterday.
Think he'll make a difference Saturday? That is obviously one big change from last week to this.
I think he could help a hell lot on 3rd and short. That's where I've always said he'd be at his best - actually anything and short is when he would be the most dangerous. I'm not saying he'll be some kind of game changer, but will help keep the ball moving.

Seriously. I'm glad this is a Saturday game. Less time to wait. Like ripping off a band aid - win or lose, let's just get this outta the way. Last week's game was the difference between me playing the wait and see game while watching the next game or being an all-out lunatic fan boy.
Win, and it only gets harder, though I don't think New Orleans can stop the run at all - though we actually will have to run the ball. Lose, and I wait a month to see Doc donning a Phils uniform.

yeah i love the short turn around time. i think that favors the birds. i'm not thinking about it until tomorrow though. gotta go in black out mode for a couple days after a loss like that
too bad you don't have a quality college basketball team to root for before spring training starts though. GO NOVA!

I'm curious how you think the short turnaround favors the Eagles? Especially with the travel.
